Practice Begins!

Share

The biggest issue that has been discussed during the offseason has been the uniform start date which is February 1st for the first organized team practice and February 22nd for the first game for all Division 1 programs (excluding Hawaii). Most schools will hold their first practice on Friday with a few exceptions including the Ivy League which will hold off for another week or so. The uniform first practice day should be a tradition like they have in basketball with Midnight practices to celebrate the beginning of the season. I know this could be a problem with some of the northern programs but could be a great experience for the young student-athletes. Did anyone do a Midnight practice? I know Harvard did one for Lacrosse on Thursday/Friday evening but did anyone do it for Baseball?

Anyways, We are only 22 days away from the first pitch being thrown. We will be providing a full ACC preview in the next week or so and probably another conference. We will also have interviews posted with Northeastern, Notre Dame, and Wake Forest in the near future. We will be posting our own Top 25 on February 9th when we are going to host a podcast at 2 pm Eastern time.

We are trying to compile a list of schools that are providing Webcasts for the 2008 season so please shoot me an e-mail if your school is providing free or PPV coverage of home games.
