The atmosphere at Disch Falk Field was unbelievable today. The weather was picture perfect and on top of that it was opening day of College baseball. Austin Woods went 6 inning giving up 5 hits and allowing 2 runs to score. He was perfect through 4 and 2/3 before VCU finally found their bats. VCU ’s team defense looked like a team that has not done a lot of outdoor practice time. Their CF misplayed a ball and the LF lost two balls in the sky. Jordan Danks reached base twice via base on balls and scored twice. Kyle Russell walked once and reach base due to the error on the CF and scored two runs. Preston Clark had two hits and had 4 rbis on the day. Preston will enjoy hitting behind Jordan and Kyle as pitchers will not give anything to them to hit.
