Bama hosts New Orleans for two-game set

The Alabama Crimson Tide will welcome New Orleans for a brief two game set on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Crimson Tide have a 9-7 overall record and 0-3 in the SEC after being swept by Kentucky over the weekend. Brandon May leads the team in hitting with a .431 average and has accumulated 14 walks in the first 16 games of the season. The Tide will send two juniors to the mound with right-hander Casey Kebodeaux (2-1, 4.44 ERA) taking the ball on Tuesday and left-hander Miers Quigley (2-1, 4.44 ERA) to the mound on Wednesday. New Orleans has gotten off to a somewhat disappointing start as they are only 8-7 after losing four games last week including a sweep by Louisiana-Monroe at home. Jeff Lanning who transferred to New Orleans from Nebraska is the top hitting on the with a .528 average and four homers. Johnny Giavotella who received several national preseason awards is off to a solid start as he is hitting .418. The Privateers will send Stephen Whalen (1-2, 11.40 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday and on Wednesday they will send Jim McGonigle (1-1, 5.93 ERA) out there.
