This situation actually started after the game on Saturday. After a 10-1 Duke victory and with the promise of rain overnight, Duke did not tarp the field leaving the surface muddy when the teams showed up on Sunday. Sunday promised a 50% chance of rain. When the game went into the delay on Sunday, with radar showing rain moving in, there was no effort to tarp the field. The 3 man ground crew had already left the stadium earlier in the game. It was clearly the worst case of sportsmanship I have ever witnessed.
