Dukes in the New England Collegiate Baseball League…Matt Fanelli started in center field and was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI for the St. Cloud (Minn.) River Bats at the Duluth (Minn.) Huskies in the Northwoods League…Connor Lambert earned a victory with a complete game for the River Bats, giving up one run on seven hits, walking one, and striking out four…Joe Huwer started in left field and was 1-for-4 with a RBI for the Hays (Kan.) UAB’s Hardy Named Player of the Year For Alaska Baseball League
UAB outfielder Brint Hardy has been named the Player of the Year for the Alaska Baseball League after an outstanding couple months playing for the Athletes In Action Fire. Hardy, from Homewood and a rising senior for the Blazers, hit a league-leading .421 in 37 games for the Fire. (FULL STORY)
