CBB Opinion on Augie Garrido Situation

Share

Yesterday, we saw the news that Texas suspended legendary head coach Augie Garrido for the first four games of the 2009 season after picking up a DWI last week. I believe this is absolutely a horrible decision by the University of Texas to only suspend him for those games. Would Augie have suspended one of his players for only four games of the season for doing the same thing? I don’t think so. I think he would have suspended him for at least 10 games. Why should the head coach of one of the biggest universities be treated different? Augie put many lives at risk by getting behind the wheel and driving after drinking. What would have happened if he had seriously injured someone or even killed someone? Would Texas have the same response? I don’t think so.

What are your opinions on the suspension? Is it enough? Not enough? Comment below.
