LSU takes the top overall national seed in The College Baseball Blog’s final regional projections. The Tigers lost their first game of the SEC Tournament but have battled back and will be taking on Vanderbilt for the SEC Tournament Championship on Sunday.
The Texas Longhorns come in as the number two overall seed followed in order by Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, North Carolina, UC Irvine, Florida State, and Rice.
There are a few games to be watching if you are a team on the bubble. Louisville and UConn meet for the Big East championship, and a UConn win would take away an at-large bid from the field. Also, the Conference USA and Sun Belt tournaments could have an impact on the field of 64. Rice and Southern Miss meet in the Conference USA final, and a Southern Miss victory would shrink the bubble. Louisiana-Monroe meets Middle Tennessee State in the Sun Belt finals, and the conference auto-bid is the only shot at making the NCAA tournament for Louisiana-Monroe.
