The defending national champion LSU Tigers have released their 2010 baseball schedule. The Tigers will defend their title with 38 games at Alex Box Stadium, including a 12-game homestand to open the season.
The season kicks off February 19-21 with in-state Centenary traveling to Baton Rouge for a three game set, followed by a mid-week game against the McNeese State Cowboys on February 24. William & Mary will then travel to Alex Box Stadium for a weekend set February 26-28. After that, the Tigers will host Pepperdine and Brown before ending their homestand against Louisiana-Monroe on March 9. Big 12 foe Kansas will travel to Baton Rouge for a weekend series March 12-14, and the Bayou Bengals will begin SEC conference play on March 19-21 when they host the Arkansas Razorbacks.
LSU will leave the state for the first time when it travels to Tennessee to take on the Volunteers March 26-28. The Georgia Bulldogs will visit Alex Box April 2-4, and LSU will head to Auburn to face the Tigers April 9-11. Alabama is next on the conference slate, with the Crimson Tide visiting the Tigers April 16-18. LSU will then hit the road for two consecutive road series, playing at Ole Miss April 23-25 and at Florida April 30-May 2.
The Tigers will round out the conference schedule with a home series against Vanderbilt May 7-9, a road series at Kentucky May 14-16, and a three game home set against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on May 20-22.
The SEC Tournament will will be from Wednesday, May 26 through Sunday, May 30 at Regions Park in Hoover, Alabama.
18 road games, only 3 aren’t required by the SEC. All 3 of those are still in the state of Louisiana (one is a neutral site game vs Southern Miss). I notice they didn’t schedule Illinois again. Muhahahaha!
Typical since they can get 10k people for a home game. It is a cost effective method.

lsu does not get 10,000 at ballgames, paticular during the week. they have not got over 7,000 in the new staduim.
On April 14th and 15th of 2009, LSU drew over 10k for Nicholls State and New Orleans.
LSU averaged about 9,600 per game and had over 400k at Alex Box 2.0 for the season. I think their record was around 2002 when they played Tulane at the Superdome with about 28k attending, an NCAA record I believe.
So Darryl is wrong….They get 10k at a few mid-week games which is a ridiculous number.
