KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State head baseball coach Mike Sansing announced the signings of twelve top student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Owls beginning in the 2009 season.

“This recruiting class, under the direction of recruiting coordinator Ryan Coe, is clearly the strongest class we’ve had since becoming Division I,” said Coach Sansing. “Coach Coe has taken a strong hold in our state and recruited not only great players, but excellent student-athletes with outstanding families. Four standouts – one a local – have been signed to early scholarships by the McNeese State baseball program.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest head baseball coach Rick Rembielak announced the signing of 10 student-athletes to national letters of intent. The class will be eligible beginning in the fall of 2009.

“We’ve met all our projected needs with this class,” Rembielak said. “We hit every spot that we needed to. I feel these players will be great college players for us and leave a good impression on our program! We continue our list with junior righthanded pitcher Steven Fischback from Cal-Poly. He is from Walnut Creek California and graduated from Las Lomas High School. CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University head coach Dan Callahan unveiled a group of seven signees Monday. The Salukis added three pitchers, three infielders and a catcher for the 2010 season.

Wes Neece (Lincoln, Ill.), Lee Weld (Dana, Ill.) and Nick Tindall (O’Fallon, Ill.) are all rated among the Top-100 players in the state according to the Illinois Prep Baseball Report, while Graham Saiko (Newburgh, Ind.) ranks as the second-best defensive infielder in Indiana (by Indiana Prep Baseball Report). MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee’s head baseball coach Steve Peterson has returned home after open heart surgery last week.

Peterson went home on Saturday and is resting comfortably under his doctor’s care.

McNeese State marks Terry Burrows second season as head baseball coach by playing a 53 game schedule in 2009, the first 11 of the contests set for Cowboy Diamond.

The Cowboys kick off the season on Feb. 20 by hosting Houston Baptist and then will also play Arkansas-Little Rock, Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State in series at home before hitting the road.

And, road trips will have McNeese tackling such teams as state powerhouses Tulane and LSU along with Houston and Louisiana-Lafayette. Read the rest of this entry »

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel baseball head coach Fred Jordan announced Monday that the program has signed four future cadet-student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Two pitchers and two positions players have signed with the Bulldogs in the 2010 recruiting class.

Ben Carr (Atlanta, Ga./Stockbridge HS), Josh Pless (Spartanburg, S.C./Boiling Springs HS), Austin Pritcher (Charleston, S.C./James Island HS) and Jeff Spillane (Houston, Texas/Houston Christian HS) will join The Citadel baseball program in the fall of 2009. The Sacramento State Hornets have released their 2009 baseball schedule which is highlighted by the season opening series from February 20th-22nd against the national ranked Arizona Wildcats. They will also play a three game road series on February 27th-March 1st at Cal Poly before the homer opener against Santa Clara on March 3rd.
