GREELEY, Colo. – During the most recent National Letter of Intent signing period, the University of Northern Colorado baseball team inked three high school standouts. Harrison Lambert, Mark Shannon and Tyler Wallace will all join the Bears for the fall of 2009.
“All three of these players are very versatile,” said assistant coach Ryan Strain. “They can all play multiple positions, which was one of the main reasons we recruited all of them.”

 Indoor Hitting Facility

NORMAN, Okla. - The interior of the indoor hitting facility is near completion as the netting was recently hung that forms the three full-size hitting/pitching lanes. The turf is expected to be installed in the next couple of weeks. Landscaping has also been recently added to the exterior of the building.

 Goodwin Field makeover

Fullerton, Calif. - Goodwin Field is getting a facelift over the holiday break.
Renovations to the home of the four-time national champions began on Tuesday, most noticeably in and around the infield. Titan Ring of Honor member, and former player and assistant coach Mike “Toad” Wilson and his crew, are giving the infield a much-needed make-over including a laser-grade and new infield dirt and turf.

Hofstra University first-year Head Baseball Coach Patrick Anderson and his staff (Assistant Coaches John Russo and Marshall Canosa) today announced the signing of their initial recruiting class at the University. The nine-member class, consisting of Andrew Barbarino (Endwell, NY), Joe Burg (Lindenhurst, IL), David D’Errico (North Kingstown, RI), Chris “CJ” Ferriggi (North Bellmore, NY), Matt Ford (Ithaca, NY), Jared Hammer (Flemington, NJ), John Krause (Wantagh, NY), Cody Normand (North Kingstown, RI) and Jared Rogers (Flemington, NJ), signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period last week. The nine will begin their academic and athletic careers at Hofstra in the fall 2009.

FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas baseball team added 12 players to its roster for the 2010 season Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn announced this week.
Two outfielders, an infielder and nine pitchers highlight the next crop of Razorbacks as the Hogs attempt to fill some vacancies that it expects to have after the 2009 season.

Some schools will send out a press releases when they have everybody signed and some will send out multiple releases when they have received the LOIs. Today that is what I will be working on. Gathering all those press releases with one or two signings and then posting them here in this article.  Head Baseball Coach Mark Johnson- Sam Houston State University
Head Coach Mark Johnson and the Bearkats of Sam Houston will play the first 14 games at home to open their 2009 campaign. They will get started with a four game home contest against Creighton on opening weekend starting on February 20th. Bearkats will follow it up with a mid week contest with Prairie View A&M. Then Saint Mary’s, Nebraska, and Missouri State will visit Huntsville for a Tournament the weekend of the 27th of February.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara baseball coach Bob Brontsema announced on Monday that the Gauchos had signed a quintet of outstanding players to National Letters of Intent.
Four of the five players are from junior colleges and two of the Gauchos’ signees are highly-touted pitchers. The players will join the 2010 team that will feature several current Gauchos from last season’s 35-21 overall record and 14-10 mark in the Big West.

The Auburn baseball program signed 11 players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, head coach John Pawlowski announced on Tuesday. The 11 players come from four different states, eight high schools and three junior colleges and includes two players that have played for USA Baseball and seven players ranked nationally by either Baseball America or PGCrosschecker.com

 Head Coach Tony Gwynn has announced the Aztecs

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State head baseball coach Tony Gwynn has announced the signing of 18 players to national letters of intent for the 2010 season. The class is comprised of 12 freshman and six junior college athletes, including a pair of athletes ranked among the top 100 prep recruits in the nation by Baseball America.
With the Aztecs expecting to lose a majority of their 2009 pitching staff to graduation and the draft, 12 of the new signings are hurlers, split equally between left- and right-handers.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico has inked 12 players to National Letters of Intent for the fall of 2009 during the recent early signing period. Head Coach Ray Birmingham and his staff have put together one of the best recruiting classes that New Mexico has seen in quite some time. The 2009 class features seven incoming freshman, five of which are New Mexico natives, and five junior college transfers.

 Northwestern State baseball head coach J.P. Davis

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State baseball head coach J.P. Davis has announced the signing of seven players during the National Early Signing Period last week.
Davis inked four high school players – all four pitchers with one who can also play in the infield – and three junior college players – one outfielder and two pitchers, one of those that will play infield as well.
“We’re very excited to add these players in the early signing period,” said Davis. “We believe these guys will have a bright future in our program.”

 Head Middle Tennessee baseball coach Steve Peterson underwent quintuple bypass heart surgery on Monday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Head Middle Tennessee baseball coach Steve Peterson underwent quintuple bypass heart surgery on Monday.
Family members indicated the surgery was successful and Peterson is recovering at a local hospital.

 Rob Walton announced the signing of 11 players on Tuesday

TULSA – Oral Roberts’ head baseball coach Rob Walton announced the signing of 11 players to National Letters-of-Intent on Tuesday.
The class consists of eight players from the junior college ranks, along with three prep players currently in their senior seasons of high school. ORU adds four pitchers, three infielders, a catcher, an outfielder and two multi-position athletes.
