The CBB has come across 7 more College Baseball Schedules- Michigan, Columbia, Gardner Webb, St. Louis, Kansas, Southeastern Louisiana, and Virginia Tech.
Gardner Webb will play 36 home games out of a 56 2009 College Baseball Schedule. First up on the slate will be 4 game series against Canisius staring on the 20th of February.
Gardner Webb will get the Atlantic Sun Conference started with a series against Presbyterian. They will wrap the season on May 14th against Winthrop and then the Conference Tournament will start the following weekend.

Brandon Anderson Named Assistant Baseball Coach At Temple
PHILADELPHIA - Brandon Anderson, an All-American and professional baseball player who played two seasons at Gloucester County College under current Temple head coach Rob Valli, has been named an assistant baseball coach for the Owls. Anderson is currently in his second season playing professional baseball for the Kalamazoo Kings of the Frontier League.
“Brandon has always been an extremely talented and highly motivated student of the game, so his transition from player to coach should be easy,” Valli said. “He will be an excellent coach and role model for our team.”

After four years as Stetson’s pitching coach Garrett Quinn has resigned so that he can accept the same position at Liberty University.
In his four years handling the pitching staff for Stetson Quinn has coached two All-Americans, seven All-Conference performers, and nine A-Sun Pitchers of the Week. The Hatters finished this past season 7th in the Atlantic Sun in ERA at 5.68. The staff was led by junior Andy Maudlin who was 1st in the conference in wins with seven and 4th in ERA at 3.61.

The College Baseball Blog made the trip down to Brockton MA to take in the First Annual Cape Cod Hall of Fame Classic between the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox and the Falmouth Commodores. The game was played at Campanelli Stadium which serves as the home of the independent league Brockton Rox.
The Red Sox were able to pick up a 5-4 victory over the Commodores holding off a ninth inning rally as the Commodores had the tying run on third base with two outs but UC-Riverside closer Joe Kelly was able to get Darrin Ruff to ground out to second to end the game. Read the rest of this entry »

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia defeated Lipscomb 14-3 and Georgia Tech 8-0 to force a game 7 in the Athens regional Monday.
In the first game against Lipscomb, right fielder Matt Olson went 5-for-6 and shortstop Gordon Beckham went 4-for-6, and first baseman Rich Poythress added 5 RBIs. Nathan Moreau earned the victory for the Bulldogs, improving to 4-2 on the season. The Lipscomb Bisons completed their season with a 33-30 record. Read the rest of this entry »

GEORGIA TECH 6, LIPSCOMB 3
ATHENS, Ga. - Brad Feltes’ two-out, two-run double in the eighth inning helped Georgia Tech beat Lipscomb, 6-3, advancing the Yellow Jackets into the championship round of the Athens NCAA Baseball Regional at Georgia’s Foley Field.
Georgia Tech (41-19) will play either Lipscomb or regional host Georgia (those two teams play Sunday at 2 p.m.) Sunday at 6 p.m. A win Sunday night would send the Yellow Jackets to a Super Regional next week. ATHENS, Ga. — The Bisons of Lipscomb University were the story of the day, as the 151st ranked team in the RPI defeated the national #8 seed Georgia 10-7 at Foley Field. The win marked the first NCAA tournament victory for Lipscomb University in any sport.
Catcher Caleb Joseph, left fielder Blake Bratcher, and first baseman Ryan Wilkins each homered for the Bisons. Bratcher and Wilkins each had 3 RBIs for Lipscomb. Rex Brothers earned the victory for Lipscomb, giving up only 2 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings. Read the rest of this entry »

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., May 6, 2008 – Freshman Turner Phelps (Roanoke, Va./Lord Botetourt) pitched seven innings of shutout relief and James Madison University overcame an early four run deficit for an 8-4 non-conference baseball victory over East Tennessee State University on Tuesday night at Cardinal Park.
