Bradley signs Seven for 2010-2011 Season
PEORIA, Ill. - The Bradley Baseball program took advantage of the early signing period and will welcome seven new Braves to the squad in 2010-11. Of the seven new additions to the program, four are pitchers, three are junior college players and all seven hail from the Land of Lincoln.

CINCINNATI – With its fall practices coming to an end, the University of Cincinnati baseball team will hold its annual Red/Black World Series Nov. 20-22 at Marge Schott Stadium. The series begins on Friday, Nov. 20, at 4:30 p.m., while both Saturday’s and Sunday’s match-ups begin at 1 p.m.

Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 61 in our countdown with West Virginia junior shortstop Jedd Gyorko. He is a 5-10 185 pound shortstop from Morgantown West Virginia where he played at University High School. He was a four-time all-conference and three-time all-state player while being the 2007 Conference Hitter of the Year.

Rutgers Baseball Announces 2010-2011 Recruiting Class
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 19, 2009) – Rutgers head baseball coach Fred Hill has announced the signing of seven scholastic standouts to National Letters of Intent.
The group includes infielder Nick Favatella (Washington Township, N.J.), outfielders Joseph D’Annunzio (Scotch Plains, N.J.) and Brian O’Grady (Warminster, Pa.), catcher Michael Zavala (Randolph, N.J.) and pitchers Charlie Lasky (Freehold, N.J.), Slater McCue (Radnor, Pa.) and Andrew Sullivan (Monroe, N.J.).

Wichita State signs Seven for 2011
WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State has received a national letter-of-intent from seven baseball players in the early signing period, Head Coach Gene Stephenson announced Nov. 17.
Bob Arens, a catcher from Northwest High School in Wichita, Kan.; Zach Beringer, a right-handed pitcher form Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Mo.; Cale Elam, a right-handed pitcher and infielder from Oktaha High School in Oktaha, Okla.; Kris Gardner, a left-handed pitcher from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas; Josh Halbert, an infielder from Choctaw High School in Choctaw, Okla.; Albert Minnis, a left-handed pitcher from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan.; and Dayne Parker, a shortstop from Roff High School in Roff, Okla., have signed national letters-of-intent with the Shockers.

Washington, D.C. – Former Georgetown baseball player Tom Braun recently competed in the Florida Ironman, a 140.6-mile triathlon held every November in Panama City Beach, Fla. What would possess someone who works in institutional equity sales and trading for a top-tier investment bank to participate in an event that features a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run?

Share Former Providence College baseball and hockey captain Lou Lamoriello was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame over the past weekend for his great leadership with the New Jersey Devils. The Boston Globe did an excellent feature on him including showing how great of a mentor and coach he was on the ice.

We continue the list today with number 69 in our countdown with UConn junior infielder Michael Olt. He is a 6’2 190 pound shortstop/third baseman from Branford High School in Branford Connecticut. He was a four year letter winner in high school where he hit .475 while holding the school record with 115 hits. He picked up All-State and All-League honors in three of the seasons. He was also a leader during Legion play bringing his team to the 2005 and 2007 State and Regional Championship titles. He was also selected in 2007 to the Legion World Series team for his accomplishments.

TAMPA – The University of South Florida baseball team will wrap up its 2009 fall season with annual Fall World Series beginning on Thursday, Nov. 5 and wrapping up on Saturday Nov. 7.
"Our Fall World Series is a great way to end our fall practice schedule," said Bulls head coach Lelo Prado. "The players are excited to play and they are ready to go and finish it off the right way."
