Rutgers Baseball Announces 2010-2011 Recruiting Class
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 19, 2009) – Rutgers head baseball coach Fred Hill has announced the signing of seven scholastic standouts to National Letters of Intent.
The group includes infielder Nick Favatella (Washington Township, N.J.), outfielders Joseph D’Annunzio (Scotch Plains, N.J.) and Brian O’Grady (Warminster, Pa.), catcher Michael Zavala (Randolph, N.J.) and pitchers Charlie Lasky (Freehold, N.J.), Slater McCue (Radnor, Pa.) and Andrew Sullivan (Monroe, N.J.).

Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 62 in our countdown with Dallas Baptist senior outfielder Ryan Enos. He is a 5’10 181 pound lefthanded hitter from Highland Village Texas and decided to attend Dallas Baptist where he has an outstanding career. His freshman season saw him appear in 30 games with 12 starts. He finished the season with an average of .194 while hitting a homer and grabbing seven RBI. Enos had his breakout season in 2008 when he finished second on the team with a .360 average with three homers and 33 RBI. He was very solid on the basepaths as he ended up stealing 16 bases in 18 attempts.

Share The Cal-State Bakersfield Roadrunners baseball program has recently put out their 2010 baseball schedule. They will open the season on Feb. 19th as they host a four game set in three days against the Air Force Academy. The following weekend sees them hosting a three game round-robin tournament with St. Mary’s, Central Michigan, and Cal coming to Hardt Field. The first road game comes on March 3rd when they travel to 2008 NCAA champion Fresno State. A couple of other highlights on the schedule are trips to Arizona, TCU, and Cal Poly while Pacific and UC-Davis headline the home schedule.

Share Head coach Bill Brown has released the 2010 George Mason baseball schedule. The Patriots will play thirty one home games at Spuhler Field this season, including twelve CAA contests.
George Mason will begin the season in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as they play a double round robin tournament with Northwestern and Winthrop (Feb. 19-21). The following weekend the Patriots will have their home opener, as they host Monmouth (Feb. 26-28) for a three game set.

FARMVILLE, Va. — Longwood University 32nd-year baseball head coach Buddy Bolding has announced the recent appointment of former starting pitcher and team captain Brian McCullough as a new Assistant Coach. He previously has played professionally for the past three seasons in the independent Frontier League. McCullough was a four-year starter for the Lancers (2004-07) while majoring in business management. He will serve as the program’s pitching coach while also assisting with all baseball operations, including recruiting.

With Texas locking up the Big 12 regular season championship last weekend, it’s a battle for second place in the conference this weekend. Oklahoma and Texas A&M both sit at 14-10 in conference play, and the two teams face off in Norman this weekend with a potential NCAA host spot on the line. RALEIGH, N.C. — Kyle Wilson went 3-for-3 with two home runs and Drew Poulk added a homer as NC State defeated top-ranked North Carolina 9-4 on Sunday at Doak Field at Dail Park to win the ACC weekend series against the Tar Heels.
With the win, the Wolfpack improves to 24-28 overall and 10-17 in ACC play. The loss drops the Tar Heels to 38-13 overall and 17-9 in the ACC. Read the rest of this entry »

AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 8 Texas Longhorns took advantage defensive lapses by the No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies in the first inning to score five runs and hung on for a 5-4 win in the rubber match of the State Farm Lone Star Showdown at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Sunday afternoon.
The UT victory coupled with a loss by Oklahoma in the Bedlam Series against Oklahoma State gave the Horns their fifth Big 12 regular-season title and the third in the last four years.

The Lone Star Showdown this weekend between Texas and Texas A&M will heavily impact the Big 12 conference race. Texas currently leads Kansas State and rival Texas A&M by one game in the conference standings. The two teams will be playing a split series, with the Friday game in College Station and the two remaining games in Austin. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State face off in the Bedlam Series, with Friday’s game to be played at Driller’s Stadium in Tulsa and the other two games at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
