Georgia 24 Ohio State 8
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Georgia exploded for eight runs in the first inning and rolled to a 24-8 win over Ohio State in game one of the Tallahassee Regional Friday at Dick Howser Stadium.

The first story of the night was Kent State’s Brad Stillings (TCBB 40th Best Player) twirling a nine inning no-hitter against Toledo as the Golden Flashes picked up a 1-0 victory over MAC rival Toledo. Stillings went nine innings without walking anyone and only a second inning error kept him from getting a perfect game. Junior, OF, 5-9/171, Mississauga, Ontario/Rick Hansen Secondary
Choy continued to stay hot for the Golden Griffins as the junior outfielder was 8-for-12 with two doubles, three home runs and five RBIs. He reached base in 12 of his 16 plate appearances while slugging 1.583 in four Canisius games. Choy entered the week with four home runs in his career, hitting three in the weekend series at Rider. Sophomore, OF, 5-10/175, Belle Harbor, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy
McCann hit .750 (12-14), drove in eight RBI and blasted two home runs, leading the Jaspers to four wins last week. He posted a 1.438 slugging percentage and .810 on-base percentage. McCann began the week batting 2-for-4 with two RBI in a 11-4 victory at BIG EAST member Seton Hall on Wednesday. #4 Texas 6 at #23 Stanford 2
The Texas Longhorns got a complete-game effort from Chance Ruffin and three hits apiece from Travis Tucker and Brandon Belt to post a 6-2 win over the Stanford Cardinal at Sunken Diamond on Friday.
Ruffin (3-0) scattered four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 9.0 innings. The sophomore right-hander yielded just one earned run to earn the win.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — On Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15, the Seton Hall Pirates baseball team will host the first annual Rawlings Strike Out Cancer Tournament as they welcome NJIT, Iona, and Northeastern to Owen T. Carroll Field on the campus of Seton Hall University. As the sponsor, Rawlings will be donating t-shirts to the four teams, as well as selling them to fans in attendance. Edison, N.J. – Canisius College is the team to beat in the 2009 MAAC baseball season, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Canisius finished with 81 points in the poll, while Rider University finished second (66). Manhattan College placed third with 58 points. Marist College and Siena College tied for fourth place (53), followed by Fairfield University (30), Niagara University (29), Saint Peter’s College (19), and Iona College (12). POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist Department of Athletics released the baseball team’s 2009 schedule on Wednesday. The Red Foxes have 54 regular-season games scheduled this season, including 17 home contests at McCann Baseball Field.
