Here is your ACC Preview for May 8th-11th. This week we only see four ACC series while Boston College, Miami, and Clemson play out of conference series. Virginia Tech is off this weekend. The marquee series of the weekend sees number 9 ranked Florida State heading to number 10 ranked Georgia Tech. Florida State 9 Virginia Tech 4

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State (33-12, 18-7 ACC) continued its winning ways completing the three-game sweep of Virginia Tech with a 9-4 victory Sunday afternoon on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles extended their win streak to a season-best 12 games which currently stands as the longest streak in the nation. North Carolina 3 East Carolina 1

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina right-hander Patrick Johnson carried a no-hitter into the seventh against hard-hitting East Carolina, and the No. 2 Tar Heels held off a late rally for a 3-1 win over the No. 14 Pirates Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium. With the victory, Carolina (25-7) extended its current winning streak to nine over ECU (25-6).

Johnson (2-0) was masterful against the Pirates, who entered the night eighth nationally with a .361 team average. Over a career-best 6 1/3 innings, the Conover, N.C., native struck out a career-high 11, walked three and allowed just the one base hit in the seventh. He retired six of the final seven batters he faced via the strikeout and fanned two or more in four separate frames. Read the rest of this entry »

CLEMSON, S.C.—–Top-ranked Georgia scored three runs in the ninth to erase a one-run deficit and beat No. 22 Clemson, 4-2, Wednesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

ATHENS-Top-ranked Georgia scored four runs in the third and held off No. 22 Clemson, 6-5, Tuesday at Foley Field.

Georgia improved to 23-3 and won for the ninth time in 10 games while Clemson dropped to 18-8.

Kansas 4 vs #4 Arizona State 9

Sophomore Tony Thompson went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer to extend his hitting streak to 21-straight games, but it was not enough for Kansas baseball Friday. Fourth-ranked Arizona State scored five unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth to tackle Kansas 9-4 in a non-conference baseball game Friday at Surprise Stadium.

DOVER, DEL. – Sophomore outfielder Jordan English (Windsor Locks, Conn.) went four-for-five, hitting three homeruns while driving in five to pace a Bulldog offensive attack that piled up 19 hits as they grabbed their first Division I win, beating Delaware State, 16-7, on the road Saturday afternoon.
