CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A trio of Ohio State pitchers, led by starter and winner Alex Wimmers (now 5-0), one-hit the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes and the Buckeye bats did more than enough to secure a 7-1 victory Tuesday before 1,755 fans at Alex Rodriguez Park. Ohio State, ranked 16th in the Collegiate Baseball poll, improves to 18-3 with the win while Miami, No. 2 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll, falls to 18-5. #9 LSU 2 Northwestern State 1
Sophomore Micah Gibbs drove in the game-winning run on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead No. 5 LSU past Northwestern State, 2-1, Tuesday in Alex Box Stadium.
Coming in to pinch hit for first baseman Buzzy Haydel with one out and the bases loaded, Gibbs drilled a 2-2 offering into the gap in right center field to break open a 1-1 tie and bring senior Derek Helenihi home for the victory.

HBU picks up its first win of the season to move to 1-13 on the year while TSU falls to 7-7.
HOUSTON – On a soggy day at Husky Field, the HBU Huskies defeated Texas Southern, 5-2, in a game shortened to five innings as a result of rain.
The game remained scoreless through three innings as neither team managed a hit before the fourth. In the top of the fourth, TSU got a leadoff walk followed by a double play. With two outs, the Tigers got two consecutive singles and a double to make it a 2-0 ballgame.

Late Rally Gets Delta Devils Past Stephen F Austin In Season Opener
The Lumberjack baseball team kept the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils at bay for the majority of the afternoon, but MVSU was able to scrape across a run in the bottom of the ninth to pick up a season-opening 4-3 win over SFA at the rain-soaked ULM Warhawk Classic.

Today we have Purdue, Alabama State, Central Connecticut, Grambling State, North Carolina A&T State, New York Tech, and Southern. The Lumberjack baseball team got looks at 19 players on Tuesday, but fell 11-5 to Grambling in a fall baseball action at Jaycees Field.
The game does not count toward either team’s 2009 record, however it does count toward each team’s allotment of allowed games.

Share Head Coach Jay Martin- Alabama A&M
Head Coach Jay Martin and Alabama A&M kick off their 2009 campaign against Saint Francis with a Double Header on Saturday the 21st of February.
Coach Martin also has schedule Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Duke and Alabama as part of their Non Conference schedule.

The University of Oklahoma baseball team reported for the first team practice of the fall semester on Thursday, Sept. 4.
The Sooners return seven position starters and 18 letterwinners overall from the 2008 team that advanced to the Tempe Regional Finals before falling to then-No. 4 Arizona State. Among those starters are Aaron Baker, Matt Harughty, Bryant Hernandez, Casey Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Tyson Seng and J.T. Wise.
