With a career record of 689 and 301 (.695 winning percentage), Coach Flaherty figures to cross into rarefied air with the potential to win his 700th game for the Huskies in 2009. The Huskies will also be going for their third national DIII title in 2009 after falling short in the Northeast Regional against the Trinity (CT) juggernaut this past spring. Coach Flaherty graduated from Maine, where he played baseball. He was inducted into the University of Maine Hall of Fame in 1992, the State of Maine Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993 and the National Association of Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2005.

in relief for the third straight day as Chapman won a slugfest with Trinity
Friday at Walt Driggers Field. The win puts Chapman in position to play for
the NCAA Division III West Region Baseball title Saturday, which would be
the program¹s fourth straight.
Vass knocked in a 3-run home run in the third, which was part of a 5-run
inning for the Panthers. The Tigers 3-1 before Chapman took a 6-3 lead,
however, Trinity struck back with four runs in the bottom of third
highlighted by Dylan Early¹s fourth homer of the tournament, a 3-run shot
off Jordan Sigman and the Tigers re-gained the lead 7-6.
ABILENE, Texas - All-American Kurt Yacko and Patrick O¹Hail helped the No.
1-ranked Chapman Panthers end McMurry¹s season and a run for a West Region
title. Yacko struck out six and didn¹t allow a hit in the final 3.2 innings
in relief and O¹Hail hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th
inning to give the Panthers a 5-3 win Thursday at Walt Driggers Field.
McMurry led 3-0 to open the game in the top of the second inning. Then,
Chapman scored a run in the second, third and sixth innings to knot the
score at three. However, no run crossed the plate until the bottom of the
12th with two outs when Jake Hurst and O¹Hail scored on O¹Hail¹s opposite
field homer to end the game.
