The College Baseball Blog would like to announce that Mark Rafferty has been promoted to the Assistant Editor role. Mark came to our site late in the season where he covered the Fullerton Regional and Super Regionals. He has decided to accept my offer to become the Assistant Editor after some intense contract negotations. This is big news for our site as it will help out with our coverage when I am working or not available to make some changes to the site. He can be contacted by clicking here or on his name in the writers section.

Since it is the end of the season, it is time to look back on a great 2008 year of coverage which ended with one of the biggest upsets in the history of College Sports with Fresno State winning the title over the Georgia Bulldogs.
We have seen unprecedented growth over the season with appearances on several radio shows with appearances in Pensacola Florida, Los Angeles, and Oregon to name just a few. Our work was featured on some of the top sports websites on the intenet with appearances on Deadspin, The Big Lead, SI On-Campus, and Hardball Times. Read the rest of this entry »

On Monday, I was approached by one of the producers of The Loose Cannons which is one of the top radio shows in the Los Angeles market. The show airs on 570 AM from 12pm-4pm Pacific time and features co-hosts Mychal Thompson who played for the Los Angeles Lakers among other teams, Steve Hartman who is one of the top sportscasters in LA and Vic “The Brick” Jacobs who is known for his crazy antics. I was on the show discussing the final games of the College Baseball Regionals and previewing the upcoming Super Regionals. The full interview is available by clicking here.

We are currently looking to expand our roster of writers as I can’t cover the entire nation on my own. We are looking for people that can commit to writing an occasional article about College Baseball, a conference preview for the upcoming weekend, or even just doing a weekend recap of conference action. If you can commit to doing this feel free to contact me for more information by clicking here.

The College Baseball Blog would like to make sure that all SID’s add us to their media contact list for the 2008 season. We would love to be added to your contact lists as it makes it much easier for us to put up recaps if they are included in our email. We are also receiving a ton of media guides but we need to be contacted by SID’s for our address. Click on my name below to send me an email.
Take care
Brian Foley
