Patrick, I noticed the absence of L-C State as well, but I didn't notice that L-C State had also disappeared from UDub's schedule.

L-C State and Wazzu haven't played each other in several years. I agree it's too bad; the last game they played in Lewiston drew about 1,000 fans.

You'll probably see some games between Seattle U. and L-C State whenever those schools release their schedules. I know that Seattle U. has a home game against British Columbia.

Highly recommend NSU RHP Chad Shepppard as one top draft pick for 2010. Outstanding pitcher.

I see Gonzaga followed suit of not scheduling Lewis and Clark State along with University of Washington and Washington State University. I guess they all got tired of being bested by a NAIA division school, can't say a blame them, there is no tangible upside for them with the current "ranking" system, too bad though.

The Northeast never seems to get much coverage. Nick Campbell, a senior this year at Bryant University has had an outstanding career in center field. During his freshman and sophomore years, Bryant was in the Division II, NE-10 conference. I think the only wood bat conference in the country. His sophomore year was highlighted with 97 hits, 53 with a wood bat, and a Rawlings Gold Glove award. Last year he broke the school career hit record with 249. With another year to go, he will certainly go over 300. He hit .306 in the NYCBL and .306 in the Northwoods league over the past two summers.

We are making plans to travel to Houston for the Houston Classic and play Missouri, Texas and Texas Tech. Then we will follow it up with our annual MLB Spring training vacation trip to Scottsdale to watch UH play Arizona State in Tempe.......Go Coogs

There is no doubt that aluminum bats add an exciting element to the game with all the long bombs and the screaming line drives. But I prefer a strategic, well managed and old fashioned game of baseball so of course I'd have to say I prefer wood bats. Not to mention it helps with the devolopment of the hitter because swinging with wood forces you to swing with proper mechanics. It's almost impossible to get lucky with wood, but with aluminum you can go up to the plate with the wrong approach and then take a bad cut, but still luck out, find the barrel, hit the ball hard and get a good result.

I hope you take a look at Tucker Nathans from Fairfield University. His numbers over his first two years at college are incredible. Last season he hit .377 with 21 extra base hits. His on base percentage was .460 and his slugging was .546. This kid can run, hit for power and has a well above average shortstop arm. Unlike most players in college he has shown that he can handle a wood bat. He hit over .300 in the NECBL last summer.
Oh, and not to mention, he starts for Fairfield's Soccer Team as well. I know this is a small program and a conference that is not known for being a baseball powerhouse, but this kind can play.
