OMAHA, Neb. – The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the ABCA/Rawlings Sporting Goods All-American teams on Wednesday, June 17.
Among the First Team honorees are six players participating in this year’s College World Series including Arizona State starting pitcher Mike Leake, LSU starting pitcher Louis Coleman, Arizona State catcher Carlos Ramirez, UNC first baseman Dustin Ackley, ASU outfielder Jason Kipnis and Virginia utility player Danny Hultzen. TUCSON, Ariz. — The Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams and National Player of The Year were announced today by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

ARLINGTON, Texas- UT Arlington center fielder Michael Choice was named to the Baseball America and rivals.com preseason All-Conference list as both publications previewed the Southland Conference. Choice was also named preseason first team All-SLC. Baseball America and rivals.com both had UT Arlington picked to finish eighth in the 12-team SLC.

TUCSON, Ariz. — The 2009 Louisville Slugger pre-season All-American baseball teams, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, features a who’s who of NCAA Division I baseball players.
The pre-season pick as National Player of The Year is RHP Stephen Strasburg of San Diego St. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder is expected to be a high first round pick in next June’s Free Agent Draft after striking out 133 batters in 97 1/3 innings last season with only 16 walks as he posted an 8-3 record with a 1.57 ERA.
