BATON ROUGE — A six-run fifth inning highlighted by Ryan Schimpf’s three-run homer propelled top-ranked LSU to a 12-9 victory over No. 6 Rice in Game 1 of the NCAA Super Regional Friday night in front of a record crowd of 9,375 at Alex Box Stadium.
