Jacob Thompson of Virginia and Doug Hogan were each honored by the ACC as Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week for the week ending on April 29th. Jacob Thompson pitched a complete game shutout while allowing four hits to lead the Cavaliers to a 14-0 victory. Thompson did not allow a runner past first base and has not allowed an earned run in his last 27.2 innings. Doug Hogan had a solid week for the Clemson Tigers as he hit .500 (9 for 18) with three homers last week. His Tigers went 3-2 for the week.

Danny Payne of Georgia Tech was named the ACC Player of the Week after hitting .545 over four games last week. The Yellow Jackets won all four games of the week with a victory over Georgia on Wednesday and sweeping NC State in a three game ACC series this past weekend.

David Duncan also of Georgia Tech and Bryan Henry of FSU were named Co-Pitchers of the Week for the ACC. Duncan pitched 8.2 innings on Friday against NC State in which he only allowed one run on two hits while striking out eleven batters. The Jackets ended up scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk-off with a 2-1 victory. Bryan Henry also started on Friday and held the North Carolina Tar Heels to one run on four hits in eight innings. He upped his record to 10-0 on the season.

The ACC has announced their players of the week for the period ending on April 16th in Buster Posey and Enrique Garcia. Posey led FSU to a 4-0 record by hitting .416 (5 for 12) in the weekend sweep over Virginia Tech. Posey also had a perfect week on defense as he didn’t commit an error in his 29 fielding attempts. Garcia pitched a complete game against NC State on Saturday as the Hurricanes went on to win the game 5-1. Garcia pitched eight shutout innings before tiring in the ninth as he allowed a run on two hits in the final inning.

The ACC has released their players of the week for the period ending on April 8th. Brandon Reichert has picked up the Player of the Week award for having multiple hits in every game this weekend as his Seminoles took two out of three games with NC State. Jacob Thompson has picked up the Pitcher of the Week award by pitching a complete game shutout while only allowing four hits in a 4-0 victory over Duke.

Tony Thomas Jr. of Florida State and Eric Niesen of Wake Forest were recognized as Players of the Week in the ACC for the week ending on April 1st.

Thomas led the Seminoles to a series victory over Duke and a victory over North Florida on Wednesday in which he had a week average of .579 (11-19) with five homers, five singles, and a double. He also scored nine runs, drove in eight runs, and stole four bases. Thomas was also named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

Eric Niesen made three appearances this week and had an ERA of 0.00 over 10 innings. He pitched 8.1 shutout innings on Sunday against North Carolina, pitched 0.2 innings on Friday against North Carolina, and a scoreless inning on Wednesday against Winthrop.

Dustin Ackley for the second straight week was named the ACC Baseball Player of the Week. He hit .500 (11-22) for the week while leading the Tar Heels to a 4-1 record. Tony Bajoczky picked up the Pitcher of the Week award by tossing seven shutout innings against Georgia Tech on Saturday to get the Blue Devils first ACC victory on the season.

The ACC has released their Players of the Week for the week ending on March 18th. Dustin Ackley of UNC picked up the Player of the Week with a batting average of .667 (14-21) in the five games last week. He had a stretch of making base in 12 consecutive plate appearances. David Duncan of Georgia Tech got the Pitcher of the Week award for throwing a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts to lead the Yellow Jackets to the 10-0 victory.

Tony Thomas Jr of Florida State was named Player of the Week in the ACC for the week ending on March 5th while Duke’s Micheal Ness was named Pitcher of the Week. Tony Thomas Jr. led the Seminoles to a 4-0 record by hitting .611 (11-18) for the week. Ness picked up two victories this week with a start against North Carolina A & T and a relief appearance win against Holy Cross on Saturday.

The ACC has named Mark Sobolewski of Miami the Player of the Week and Andrew Brackman the Pitcher of the week for February 26th. Mark went .571 at the plate to lead the Hurricanes to a series victory over the Phoenix of Elon. Andrew Brackman was spectacular in his start this weekend against Coastal Carolina when he pitched 7.1 shutout innings and picking the victory in a 4-0 victory over previously undefeated Coastal Carolina. Miami will face the Florida Marlins on Tuesday while NC State will host UNC-Wilmington also on Tuesday.
