DeLand, Fla. - Third-ranked Florida State (36-7) registered its seventh consecutive non-conference victory with a 13-3 win over Stetson (19-27) Tuesday night in front of 2,751 at Melching Field, the eighth largest crowd in stadium history. The Seminoles reached the double-digit run plateau for the fourth straight game against the Hatters outscoring Stetson 60-9 during the stretch. CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Sophomore third baseman Mark Sobolewski tied a career-high with six RBI and senior right-hander Enrique Garcia tossed seven scoreless innings as No. 1 Miami (36-5, 20-2 ACC) shut out No. 16 Virginia, 10-0, completing a three-game series sweep of the Cavaliers (32-15, 13-11 ACC) Sunday afternoon at Mark Light Field.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.fiusports.com) – It had been four years since FIU had beaten Miami at Mark Light Field and an eternity since it beat the nation’s No. 1 team. That all changed Wednesday night with a 6-3 win for the Golden Panthers (14-29) against top-ranked Miami (33-5) in front of 2,483 on the Hurricanes’ home field.

FIU led throughout the game and held Miami hitless for five-straight innings after starter Eric Horstmann gave up a pair of singles in the first. The Golden Panthers built a 4-0 lead before Miami bounced back for three runs in the seventh. UM carried the momentum into the eighth, loading the bases with two outs against reliever James Lajiness. Tallahassee, Fla. - In front of a record crowd of 6.789, second-ranked Florida State (34-4, 18-2 ACC) snapped a three-game losing streak to top ranked Miami (32-4, 16-2 ACC) with a 9-5 come-from-behind victory Saturday night at Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles pounded out 14 hits in game two while the bullpen turned in a solid effort not allowing a run in five innings of work to even the series at a game a piece.

Jason Stidham led the offense on Saturday night as the sophomore second baseman tied a career-high with four hits including a pair of doubles. He also drove in three and scored a run in the win. Freshman Stuart Tapley went 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice while senior Dennis Guinn registered two RBIs and a double. Five of the nine Seminole runs were scored on two outs. CLEMSON, S.C. - No. 4 North Carolina broke open a one-run game with five straight two-out singles in the eighth inning to claim an 8-4 win over Clemson Sunday and its first-ever series sweep at the Tigers’ Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Second baseman Kyle Seager belted the go-ahead home run in the fifth - his third in the last two days - and drove in a game-high three runs for the Tar Heels (29-7, 13-4 ACC). Paced by three-hit efforts by Seager, first baseman Dustin Ackley and third baseman Chad Flack, who also drove in two runs, the Tar Heels pounded out 18 hits en route to the first series sweep by an opponent at Clemson since Florida State took three from the Tigers in 2002. Freshman Geoff Parker recorded his third win of the season, while Ryan Strauss pitched the ninth for his second save of the day. CORAL GABLES, FL - Florida Atlantic right-hander Michael Obradovich struck out a season-best seven batters, allowing just three runs in eight outstanding innings and All-America candidate William Block hit two home runs in the Owls’ 6-3 win over No. 1 Miami.

Junior left fielder Dave DiNatale sent the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the 11th over the fence in left field as top-ranked Miami walked off with a 4-2 win over Florida Gulf Coast Tuesday night at Mark Light Field.
