CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Junior right-hander Rene Guerra earned his first career win and Dave DiNatale smacked a three-run homer in the fifth that proved to be the difference as the No. 2 ranked Miami baseball team finished off the sweep of Clemson with a 7-6 win Sunday afternoon at Mark Light Field. CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Freshman catcher Yasmani Grandal collected a career-high four hits and four RBI including the go-ahead home run in the sixth inning and No. 2 Miami tacked on eight runs in the eighth inning en route to a 15-5 win over Clemson (18-12, 6-8 ACC) Saturday night to clinch the Atlantic Coast Conference series at Mark Light Field in front of another capacity crowd of 3,000. Sophomore right-hander Kyle Bellamy (5-0) won for the second time in as many days as the Hurricanes (25-2, 11-1 ACC) extended their winning streak to 12 games.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Junior first baseman Yonder Alonso belted a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth as No. 2 Miami defeated Clemson, 6-4, Friday night to extend its winning streak to 11 games and take game one of the Atlantic Coast Conference series in front of another capacity crowd of 3,000 at Mark Light Field. MIAMI, Fla. - Sophomore right-hander David Gutierrez no-hit Florida International for the first three innings and No. 2 Miami erupted for 11 runs during those innings as the Hurricanes cruised past the Golden Panthers, 13-2, at University Park Wednesday night. Winston-Salem, N.C. - What would a Florida State, Wake Forest series be without extra innings? For the third time in the last eight meetings, the Seminoles (23-3, 11-1) and Demon Deacons (12-13, 5-6) played bonus baseball and for the third time FSU came out on top. COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Right fielder Tim Fedroff belted his first career grand slam and drove in a career-high six runs, and third baseman Chad Flack added a grand slam and five RBI in No. 3 North Carolina’s 19-1 win over Maryland Sunday at Shipley Field. The Tar Heels (18-4, 7-2 ACC) scored five runs in the fourth, seven in the sixth and five in the eighth to help take their eighth straight series from the Terrapins (11-11, 2-7 ACC).

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Mike Murphy continued his hot hitting and Scott Swinson gritted out eight solid innings on the mound as the Terrapins’ baseball team knocked off the third-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels, 4-2, Friday night at Shipley Field. It was Maryland’s first win against a top-five team since April 2, 2006 when it beat then-No. 3 Georgia Tech.
Murphy (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) homered for the third consecutive game, a two-run shot to center field in the bottom of the fifth inning to give him a team-high six on the year, a career high. Every Tiger starter had a hit, as Clemson totaled 19 hits, to defeat Boston College in the series finale in front of 4,252 fans at Doug Kingsmore Sunday afternoon. Clemson improved to 10-6 overall, 2-4 in ACC play. The Eagles, who won the series 2-1, fell to 8-8 overall, 2-4 in ACC play.
Graham Stoneburner (3-0) earned the win by pitching an impressive 6.0 innings, allowing just one run off three hits, while striking out eight and walking no one. CARY, N.C. - Sophomore second baseman Kyle Seager’s walk-off sacrifice fly in the 11th inning lifted No. 3 North Carolina to a 6-5 victory over Virginia Tech Saturday at Cary’s USA Baseball National Training Complex. The Tar Heels (13-3, 4-1 ACC) also got seven shutout innings from their bullpen to secure the series victory from the Hokies (7-10, 0-5 ACC).
After leaving the bases loaded in the ninth and stranding two in the 10th, Carolina took advantage of some Virginia Tech miscues to set up Seager’s game-winning RBI opportunity.
