OKLAHOMA CITY — Shaver Hansen was 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, leading Baylor to an 8-4 victory over Kansas in Saturday’s pool-play action at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at Bricktown Ballpark. This is the Big 12 recap for Saturday , April 24th. Kansas State took the opener from Texas as AJ Morris threw a complete game. In the Game Texas had Morris on the rope early in the contest but could not put the finishing touches on AJ. AJ went the distance but, he threw 139 pitches. In other action Oklahoma took the opener from Baylor in Waco, 4-2. Oklahoma State 4 Texas A&M 1, Nebraska 11 Kansas 4, and Missouri 18 Texas Tech 7.

This is the Big 12 recap for Sunday- As Texas Tech took 2-3 games from A&M, Texas went to Stillwater Oklahoma and won the series 2-1, Oklahoma won their series with Missouri 2-1, Kansas State swept Nebraska and finished up their series yesterday, Baylor won their series two games to one against Kansas.

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State got back in the win column in Big 12 Conference play Saturday with a 7-1 win over No. 9 Texas at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak in league play for the 15th-ranked Cowboys, who improved to 21-9 overall and 4-4 in the Big 12. Texas dropped to 19-8 overall and 5-6 in conference play.

The Big 12 had six teams in action on Wednesday. The conference had a pretty good showing on the day, going 4-2 overall with some blowout wins. Here is Wednesday’s Big 12 recap.
#11 Baylor 14, Prairie View A&M 1
WACO, Texas — Seventh-ranked Baylor sent 15 batters to the plate in an 11-run first inning and coasted to a 14-1, seven-inning victory over Prairie View A&M in midweek action Wednesday night at Baylor Ballpark. Baylor (18-7) improved to 5-0 all-time against Prairie View A&M (15-14) with the win.
Baylor’s 11-run first inning was one run shy of the school record for first-inning runs. The Bears enjoyed a 12-run first inning in the second game of a doubleheader March 17, 1986, against Dallas Baptist. Read the rest of this entry »

There were seven conference games on Sunday in the Big 12, with both the Missouri/Oklahoma State and Nebraska/Oklahoma series having doubleheaders due to recent bad weather in the Oklahoma area. The other three series wrapped up their three game sets as scheduled.

TEMPE, Ariz. – - No. 15 Mizzou attempted a late rally against Arizona State Thursday night in Tempe, Ariz., but fell short, as the eighth-ranked Sun Devils defeated the Tigers 2-1 on day one of the DeMarini Invitational. The loss extends Missouri’s losing streak to five.
Trailing 2-0 in the ninth inning, MU scored once and had the trying run at third base when the final out was recorded. Junior Greg Folgia and senior Ryan Lollis delivered back-to-back one-out singles. And Folgia scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Aaron Senne. ShareOKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The No. 24 Texas Longhorns logged 19 hits to post a 15-7 win over the Kansas State Wildcats in the title game of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
It was the third league tournament crown for Texas who also won the prize in 2002 and 2003.
Brandon Belt was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship Most Outstanding Player. He went .588 (10-of-17) with five runs, two doubles, one home run and 10 RBI in four games.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Sophomore David Hernandez chipped an 0-2 offering for an RBI single to cap a three-run rally and lead the Texas Longhorns to a come-from-behind 11-10 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship baseball action at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark Saturday morning
With Texas trailing 10-8 in the bottom of the ninth, Jordan Danks and Kyle Russell drew walks from Jake McCarter to leadoff the frame. Chase Anderson came in to pitch for the Sooners and induced a pop up on a bunt attempt by Russell Moldenhauer for the first out. Brandon Belt reignited the rally with a single to rightfield, plating Danks and trimming the lead to 10-9. Preston Clark struck out looking to bring Hernandez to the plate with two outs. Hernandez swung at strike two in the dirt, but a wild pitch allowed Russell to score from third and put Belt in scoring position.
