I personally have been a huge fan of Mainieri since 1998 when I attended the Big East conference tournament in Norwich Connecticut. You could always tell that Mainieri was destined to become a coach at one of the major powers in the coming years and finally got the chance at LSU. (DURHAM, N.C.) – Rick Hague (Rice) went 3-5 with two doubles and three RBI and Gerrit Cole (UCLA) pitched lights out for six and two-thirds innings to lead the USA Baseball National Team (Collegiate) to an 8-1 win over Team Canada at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park Friday night.

Tyler Holt (Florida State) led the game off with a stand up double and stole third base on Canadian starting pitcher and sixth round draft pick of the Philadelphia Phillies, Steven Inch.
