SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Bryant University head baseball coach Jamie Pinzino is pleased to announce the Bulldogs’ 2010 schedule, to include 20 home contests as well as a full Northeast Conference slate.
The Bulldogs, who went 32-22 last season in their first year of Division I play, will open the spring season 10-straight road games, traveling south to warmer weather before returning to The Ocean State to host Boston College in the 2010 home opener on Wednesday, March 17.

The Arkansas Razorbacks picked up another victory over Arizona State on Wednesday night to sweep the brief two game set from the Arizona State Sun Devils in front of a record crowd at Baum Stadium. I guess people will have to respect the Razorbacks 24-6 record. They will now host Vanderbilt in an SEC series this weekend. Arizona State will head home to take on a tough Washington State squad. Share I sent one of my trusted confidants down to Smithfield, Rhode Island to take in the Boston College and Bryant University game on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The Bryant Bulldogs ended up knocking off their second ACC squad on the year with an 8-5 victory behind two homers from senior Pat McKenna who finished the day by going a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. DOVER, DEL. – Sophomore outfielder Jordan English (Windsor Locks, Conn.) went four-for-five, hitting three homeruns while driving in five to pace a Bulldog offensive attack that piled up 19 hits as they grabbed their first Division I win, beating Delaware State, 16-7, on the road Saturday afternoon. SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball and head coach Jamie Pinzino are pleased to announce the eight student-athletes who have committed to joining the Bulldogs for the 2010 season.
“We are very pleased to have these players as part of the Bryant Baseball program,” said Pinzino. “As our first Division I recruiting class, they will be key in helping us succeed at the next level. They are all talented athletes and strong students and we are excited that Bryant is the right fit for them.”

Georgia State Announces 2009 Slate
Highlighted by home match-ups against two of their biggest rivals and coming off a school record 33-win season, the Georgia State baseball team announced its upcoming 2009 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The journey back to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament begins with a four-game home series against Cleveland State on Friday, February 20th.

Player of the Week: Nick Campbell (Bryant), Little Falls
Nick Campbell batted .375 (9-for-24) and compiled a .531 on-base percentage in eight games for the Miners last week. Campbell scored a team-high seven runs, drove in five runs, drew eight walks and tallied three extra-base hits. He reached base via hit or walk in seven of eight contests and he had three multi-hit and two multi-walk games. The Raynham, Mass., native had his best game against Amsterdam on July 5. He was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two walks, two stolen bases, one double, one triple and one run scored as Little Falls won, 11-5. Read the rest of this entry »
