JerryMeyersODU The ODU Baseball Monarchs head coach Jerry Meyers announced the 2010 schedule which will feature games  against schools from 10 different conferences, including league champions Elon from the Southern and East Carolina from Conference USA. 

The Monarchs open the regular season on Feb. 19 at home with a three-game series against Fordham. CAA play begins, March 26-27 against CAA tournament champion Georgia State at home.

PatrickAndersonHofstra Hempstead, NY- Second-year Hofstra University Head Baseball Coach Patrick Anderson today announced the 2010 Pride schedule, which features a series against a NCAA Tournament qualifier.

Hofstra will again undertake a challenging non-conference slate, including a season-opening three-game series against Troy University in Alabama starting with an Opening Day tilt Feb. 19.

UNCWSchedule WILMINGTON, N.C. - Matchups against longtime regional rivals East Carolina, N.C. State, Elon and Coastal Carolina highlight UNC Wilmington’s 2010 baseball schedule, according to 19th-year Seahawk skipper Mark Scalf.

"I think we have a solid schedule as we continue to try to play the best opposition we can," said Scalf. "We have a good mix of teams that will prepare us to reach our goals as a program this season."

PatrickAnderson Hempstead, NY – Hofstra Head Baseball Coach Patrick Anderson today announced that James Lally and Kelly Haynes would join the Pride coaching staff as assistant baseball coaches.

Lally, who will serve as the Pride’s pitching coach, spent the 2008-09 academic year at Archbishop Molloy High School in Middle Village, New York. Lally served as an assistant baseball and basketball coach in addition to his duties as a teacher’s aide.

Washington Post Photo Head coach Bill Brown has released the 2010 George Mason baseball schedule.  The Patriots will play thirty one home games at Spuhler Field this season, including twelve CAA contests.

George Mason will begin the season in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as they play a double round robin tournament with Northwestern and Winthrop (Feb. 19-21).  The following weekend the Patriots will have their home opener, as they host Monmouth (Feb. 26-28) for a three game set.

GregFrady The Georgia State baseball team will open defense of its 2009 CAA Championship by travelling to face Florida State in an opening weekend three-game series to start the 2010 season as announced by head coach Greg Frady on Friday. The Panthers unveiled the entire schedule that will feature 29 home games.

After earning its first CAA Championship and a school-record 39 wins, the journey back to the NCAA Regionals will begin on February 19th in Tallahassee, Fla.

dameron1_lg The Duquesne Dukes will spend the first six weeks of the season on the road in 2010.  The Dukes start the season with a weekend series at South Carolina (Feb. 19-21) before flocking to Winter Haven, Florida, for a Spring Break trip beginning Feb. 27.  Duquesne will pick up single games against Central Florida (March 2) and West Virginia (March 9) before traveling to UNC-Wilmington (March12-14).  The games away from home continue with a mid-week game at Kent State (March 16) and a spot in the George Mason Tournament (March 19-21).  The Dukes then wrap up the road haul with a game at Akron (March 24) followed by the opening weekend of Atlantic 10 play at George Washington (March 26-28).

montalbano121808 Former Huskies baseball pitcher Greg Montalbano, who was inducted into the Northeastern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005, passed away on Friday, Aug. 21, after a long battle with cancer. He was only 31.

Montalbano was one of Northeastern’s biggest stars on the baseball diamond. After an outstanding career at St. John’s of Shrewsbury, Mass., Montalbano went 19-7 with a 2.55 ERA and 217 strikeouts, which was good for first all-time in program history. In 1999, he was named All-America, All-New England, All-America East and America East Pitcher of the Year. That season, he threw a no-hitter against Niagara on March 20.
