He is a 5-10 185 pound shortstop from Morgantown West Virginia where he played at University High School. He was a four-time all-conference and three-time all-state player while being the 2007 Conference Hitter of the Year.

CCBLHOF The Cape Cod Baseball League had its induction ceremony to their Hall of Fame over the weekend. They inducted ten different people including Harold “Pie” Traynor, Lou Lamoriello, Joe Magrane, Art Quirk, Bill Schroeder, Greg Vaughn, Mark Angelo, John Awdycki, Zane Carlson, and former Chatham manager Joe “Skip” Lewis.

BAVollmuthSouthernMiss The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 66 in our countdown with Southern Miss sophomore shortstop BA Vollmuth. He is from Biloxi, Mississippi where he was a three year captain of the Biloxi High School baseball squad under Kevin Burdine. His senior season saw him hit .390 with six homers and 37 RBI while picking up multiple honors including being named A Clarion Ledger 1st team All-State Selection, Clarion Ledger Dandy Dozen Team and Sun Herald All-South Team. He was even better in his junior year when he batted .423 with eight homers and 36 RBI. He was drafted in the 32nd round by the Houston Astros but decided to head to Southern Miss to play under Corky Palmer for a season and will be playing for Scott Berry this season.

CameronRuppHeadShot The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 67 in our countdown with Texas junior catcher Cameron Rupp. He is from Plano Texas and attended Prestonwood Christian Academy where he picked up three letters. His senior season saw him bat at a .644 clip with six homers and 55 RBI in 32 games while leading the squad to a state championship game appearance. He won multiple awards after his senior season including being named district MVP, all-state, Rawlings All-American and Louisville Slugger All-America honors. He also had an outstanding junior season as he hit .500 with 12 doubles, five home runs and 35 RBI to earn district MVP, all-state and Aflac All-America honors as a junior, helping team win a district title with a 24-5 record and earn a state semifinal appearance. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 43rd round in the 2007 draft but decided to head to Austin to play under legendary head coach Augie Garrido.

MikeOlt The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 69 in our countdown with UConn junior infielder Michael Olt. He is a 6’2 190 pound shortstop/third baseman from Branford High School in Branford Connecticut. He was a four year letter winner in high school where he hit .475 while holding the school record with 115 hits. He picked up All-State and All-League honors in three of the seasons. He was also a leader during Legion play bringing his team to the 2005 and 2007 State and Regional Championship titles. He was also selected in 2007 to the Legion World Series team for his accomplishments.

We continue the list today with number 73 in our countdown with San Diego LHP Sammy Solis. He is a 6-5 228 pound lefty out of Agua Frias High School and Litchfield Park Arizona. He had a career record of 25-8 in high school while recording 398 strikeouts, which is second most in state history at the 4A division in Arizona. Heading into his senior campaign, he was named a preseason All-American by Rawlings.

AndyWilkinsHeadshot The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 77 in our countdown with Arkansas junior first baseman Andy Wilkins. He is from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and attended Broken Arrow High School. He had an outstanding high school career as a senior batted .538 (63 for 117) with 18 doubles, a triple and 12 home runs. He also scored 52 runs and drove in 53 his final year with a .635 on-base percentage and slugged 1.017. He also hit .496 as a junior with a school record 17 home runs and 16 doubles while scoring 30 runs and driving in 60. He finished the season with a 1.109 slugging and .519 on-base percentage. He was named a Louisville Slugger High School All-American twice and rated as the 11th best prospect out of Oklahoma by Baseball America. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 25th round but could not come to terms with him making him head to Fayetteville Arkansas to play for the Razorbacks.

ScottWoodward The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 79 in our countdown with Coastal Carolina infielder/outfielder Scott Woodward. He is from Markle Indiana and attended Norwell High School where he led the team to a state championship as a senior. He finished his senior season with a .454 average including 60 runs, seven doubles, 24 runs-batted-in and 30 stolen bases. He was also outstanding on the mound going a perfect 8-0 with a 1.93 ERA. He was named First-Team All-Indiana selection as well as an All-Conference and an All-Area performer. He was also named to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Central Region All-High School Senior Team.

We continue the list today with number 84 in our countdown with junior 1B/3B Mickey Wiswall of Boston College. He is a 6’0 207 pound left handed hitting third baseman who comes from Stoneham, MA and Belmont Hill where he played high school baseball. He played for three seasons at Belmont Hill under Edward Gallagher where Mickey hit over .450 in each of his seasons while totaling 11 homers and 64 RBI in his career. He was named to the Inner City League All-Star Game and was an AAU All-American.

We continue the list today with number 88 in our countdown with Holy Cross senior third baseman Matt Perry. He is 6’2 and 190 pounds out of St. Sebastian’s High School and from Sudbury Massachusetts. He was a three sport athlete (Cross-Country, Basketball, and Baseball) in high school picking up letters in each sport from his sophomore through his senior campaigns. He was a two-time member of ISL All-League team.
