We continue the list today with number 90 in our countdown with Florida Southern junior RHP Daniel Tillman. He is a 6’1 195 pound righhander from Live Oak, Florida and Suwannee High School. He was a third-team all-state selection in his junior and senior season.

We continue the list today with number 91 in our countdown with LSU junior outfielder Leon Landry. He is 5’11 and 197 pounds out of Baton Rouge, LA and Baker High School. He was a three sport athlete in high school playing basketball, football, and baseball. He excelled in baseball as he was named first team all-district in three consecutive seasons as a pitcher and infielder. Perfect Game rated him as one of the top players in the Southeast region which saw him get selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 36th round. He declined to sign with the Reds and headed to LSU.

We continue the list today with number 93 in our countdown with Missouri State junior LHP Aaron Meade. He is a 6’2 175 pound left-handed pitcher out of Rockhurst High School and Kansas City, Missouri. His senior season saw him go 4-2 with a 2.25 ERA and win Rockhurst High School’s Pitcher of the Year award.

We continue the list today with number 94 in our countdown with Auburn junior DH/Infielder Kevin Patterson. He is 6’4 233 pounds out of Oak Mountain High School and from Birmingham, Alabama. He had a career average in high school of .392 with 25 homers and 107 RBI. He was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 24th round in the 2007 MLB Draft but decided to become a member of the Auburn Tiger baseball squad.

Share FSU Sports Information Student SID Ultima Rogers recently sat down with junior LHP John Gast who spent the summer in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. Gast ended up playing with the Harwich Mariners which are coached by Boston College assistant coach Steve Englert.

Share The season was a struggle for the entire league as their was several rainouts setting up a couple of doubleheaders thus not giving LaMarre a chance to catch up on his golf game. Nicole in the article gives you a breakdown on a typical day in LaMarre’s summer in the league including dealing with his host family which kept him on an air mattress in the basement.

Share Jedd Gyorko is profiled in a West Virginia MetroNews which talks about his summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Gyorko ended up with the Brewster Whitecaps where he hit a respectable .323 in 34 games while hitting five homers and driving in 18 runs.

DURHAM, N.C.–Mississippi and Washington State lead all schools by placing five players apiece on Baseball America’s top prospects lists for 18 different summer college leagues and Team USA. Last summer, Louisiana State and Texas each led the nation with five players apiece on BA’s summer league lists, and those two teams wound up facing off for the national championship at the College World Series.
BA ranked the top 30 prospects for the talent-rich Cape Cod League, and the top 10 prospects in 17 other summer college leagues. In addition, the top 20 Team USA prospects were ranked.

CAPE COD, Mass. – Long-time Falmouth Commodores administrator Chuck Sturtevant has been selected vice president of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
The personable Sturtevant succeeds CCBL VP Phil Edwards, who passed away this past summer after a long illness. The former Falmouth Commodores president, treasurer and general manager served as chief financial officer of the Under Armour Cape League All-Star Game at Fenway Park.

After officiating for 30 years at various levels of baseball, veteran umpire John Leeds has received the 6th annual Curly Clement Award, presented for officiating excellence and contributions over the years to baseball umpiring in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
The Clement Award was presented to Leeds during the last week of the regular-season game by Sol Yas, CCBL deputy commissioner and umpire-in-chief, and Nick Zibelli, president of the CBUAO.

SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass—Tyler Burgoon (Michigan) of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox earned himself the Russ Ford Award as the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Top Relief Pitcher with his spectacular performance on the mound. The 5’10 closer struck out 34 batters in 21.1 innings pitched.
“It was a good feeling knowing your goal’s being accomplished,” said Burgoon, who held himself to high standards coming to the Cape this summer. “It’s one of the goals I set for myself before I came and I had the team and coaches to actually get it done.”
