Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 74 in our countdown with Cal-State Fullerton junior RHP Daniel Renken. He is a 6’4 195 pound righty out of Orange Lutheran High School and from Cypress California. He was a three year letter winner for head coach Mike Grahovac with a career record of 17-7 including an impressive senior season where he went 8-3 with a 1.95 ERA as he was named All-Orange County. The Colorado Rockies selected him in the 35th round in 2007 but were unable to come to terms with him.

We continue the list today with number 75 in our countdown with Hawaii sophomore infielder/outfielder Kolten Wong. He is from Kamehameha-Hawaii High School in Kea’au, Hawai`i where he lettered in baseball and football. He was named State Co-Player of the Year as senior after hitting .660 for the season. He was named All-League First team from 2005-2008 while being named first team All-State in 2006 and 2008. He was selected in the 16th round by the Minnesota Twins but was not able to come to an agreement with the team.

We continue the list today with number 76 in our countdown with Clemson junior outfielder Kyle Parker. He is from Jacksonville Florida and Bartram Trail High School where he played four years of baseball and football. He was named All-State and All-County as a junior as he skipped his senior season of baseball to enroll in the winter of 2008 as he accepted a football scholarship to play for the Tigers.

Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 77 in our countdown with Arkansas junior first baseman Andy Wilkins. He is from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and attended Broken Arrow High School. He had an outstanding high school career as a senior batted .538 (63 for 117) with 18 doubles, a triple and 12 home runs. He also scored 52 runs and drove in 53 his final year with a .635 on-base percentage and slugged 1.017. He also hit .496 as a junior with a school record 17 home runs and 16 doubles while scoring 30 runs and driving in 60. He finished the season with a 1.109 slugging and .519 on-base percentage. He was named a Louisville Slugger High School All-American twice and rated as the 11th best prospect out of Oklahoma by Baseball America. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 25th round but could not come to terms with him making him head to Fayetteville Arkansas to play for the Razorbacks.

We continue the list today with number 78 in our countdown with Louisville sophomore RHP Tony Zych. He is from Monee Illinois and attended St. Rita High School where he played four seasons under Mike Zunica. He finished his senior season with a .426 batting average with eight homers and 30 RBI as a second baseman.

We continue the list today with number 79 in our countdown with Coastal Carolina infielder/outfielder Scott Woodward. He is from Markle Indiana and attended Norwell High School where he led the team to a state championship as a senior. He finished his senior season with a .454 average including 60 runs, seven doubles, 24 runs-batted-in and 30 stolen bases. He was also outstanding on the mound going a perfect 8-0 with a 1.93 ERA. He was named First-Team All-Indiana selection as well as an All-Conference and an All-Area performer. He was also named to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Central Region All-High School Senior Team.

We continue the list today with number 80 in our countdown with Xavier junior two-way player Ben Thomas from Columbus Ohio where he attended Westerville Central High School. He played all four seasons of high school ball under Scott Walberry where he was named All-Ohio Capital Conference and First-Team All-District as a senior. Multiple scouting services named Thomas the top high school prospect in Ohio but decided to head to Xavier.

We continue the list today with number 81 in our countdown with sophomore LHP Ali Simpson. He is a 6-3 lefty out of Campbell River, British Columbia and attended Carihi Secondary High School. He had a solid high school career as he had 1.21 ERA in 79 innings pitched.

Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 82 in our countdown with Kentucky junior LHP Logan Darnell. He is from Goodpasture High School and his hometown is Joelton Tennessee. He had an outstanding high school career where he won the state championship in his freshman and senior seasons. In his senior season, he went 8-1 with a 1.57 ERA while striking out 112 batters in 62 innings. He also was strong in his junior season when he went 11-3 with an ERA of 1.20. He picked up All-State honors in his junior and senior campaigns while being named a Louisville Slugger High School All-American after his senior season.

We continue the list today with number 84 in our countdown with junior 1B/3B Mickey Wiswall of Boston College. He is a 6’0 207 pound left handed hitting third baseman who comes from Stoneham, MA and Belmont Hill where he played high school baseball. He played for three seasons at Belmont Hill under Edward Gallagher where Mickey hit over .450 in each of his seasons while totaling 11 homers and 64 RBI in his career. He was named to the Inner City League All-Star Game and was an AAU All-American.

Share Nebraska head coach Mike Anderson has released the 2010 slate for his Cornhuskers. The Huskers finished a disappointing last place in the Big 12 last year but are looking to get back to being a mainstay at the College World Series like they were at the start of the decade.
The Huskers will begin the 2010 season on the West Coast, as they travel to California to take on Fresno State (Feb. 19-22) in a four game set. Nebraska will then visit Houston, Texas, to take part in the Rice Invitational (Feb. 26-28) where they will play games against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, host Rice, and Elon.
