The Centenary College Board of Trustees voted on Wednesday to reclassify their entire athletic department from Division 1 down to Division 3. They have been fielding athletic teams since 1894 and have been members of Division 1 since the NCAA started classifying teams. The main reason for this move of course is finances as many schools across the country are trying to cut back on costs as the economic crisis continues.

The NCAA has threaten these two schools to get their academics under control and if they don’t then the baseball programs at both schools will be banned from postseason play.
