WACO, Texas — Baylor baseball head coach Steve Smith named Trevor Mote as the program’s volunteer assistant Tuesday. Mote comes to Baylor after a three-year stint as assistant coach at Yavapai College in Arizona . He replaces Chris Clemons, who accepted a position at McLennan Community College .

In his four years handling the pitching staff for Stetson Quinn has coached two All-Americans, seven All-Conference performers, and nine A-Sun Pitchers of the Week. The Hatters finished this past season 7th in the Atlantic Sun in ERA at 5.68. The staff was led by junior Andy Maudlin who was 1st in the conference in wins with seven and 4th in ERA at 3.61. Hempstead, NY-Hofstra University Director of Athletics Jack Hayes today announced the appointment of Patrick Anderson to the position of head baseball coach. Anderson, the 13th coach in the program’s 71-year history, replaces Chris Dotolo, who resigned in June.

Young, a former Freshman All-America selection at Mississippi State , will take over as assistant baseball coach. The Georgetown , Texas native played three seasons for the Bulldogs, finishing in the Top-10 all-time list for relief appearances. He was also named to the 2001 SEC All-Tournament Team and the 2001 SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player.

A couple of former MLB players were recently named new assistant coaches. Rusty Greer who made a name for himself with the Texas Rangers was recently added to the coaching staff of NAIA school Texas Wesleyan. He served as the manager of the Colleyville Lone Stars of the Texas Collegiate League in 2007 and this summer is coaching the Dallas Baseball Academy which is a 17 year old team. LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Loyola Marymount University Athletic Director Bill Husak announced today that Frank Cruz has been released from his position as head baseball coach.
Mark Kingston of Tulane University will be leaving the school to head to Illinois State to become the head coach in the 2010 season. He will serve as the head coach designee in 2009 under outgoing coach Jim Brownlee. Kingston was a member of Rick Jones staff since the 2001 season and becomes the fifth head coach that served under Jones to become a head coach.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Scott Jackson, who has extensive experience as an assistant coach throughout Southeastern college baseball, has been named an assistant baseball coach at the University of North Carolina, head coach Mike Fox announced Tuesday. Jackson, who joins the Tar Heels after one season at Liberty, will work with the offense, including hitting and base running, as well as infield play. He also will serve as Carolina’s recruiting coordinator.

(Charleston) - Former College of Charleston standout and South Carolina assistant coach Monte Lee has been named the Cougars’ head baseball coach, Charleston’s director of athletics Joe Hull announced Thursday at an 11:00 a.m. press conference at Randolph Hall on the school’s campus. Lee replaces John Pawlowski who was named head coach at Auburn on June 20, 2008.
Wes Carroll will be named the new head coach of Evansville in the near future according to a report by tv station WFIE. Carroll has spent the last two seasons as an assitant at the school and will replace Dave Seifert. The full report from the TV station is available
