NEW ORLEANS - The 2010 Tulane baseball team will play one of the most competitive schedules in school history with a 56-game national slate featuring teams from nine different conferences, 19 contests against 2009 postseason teams, 10 outings against in-state rivals and three first time opponents, and Green Wave fans will have the opportunity to watch 40 home games at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, as announced today by Tulane head baseball coach Rick Jones.

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Thirty-six home games at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium, including the Seventh-Annual Keith LeClair Classic, highlight the 2010 East Carolina baseball schedule announced Wednesday morning by head baseball coach Billy Godwin.
The 2010 slate features 17 games against teams that earned a bid to the 2009 NCAA Regionals; 32 against teams with 30-plus wins; five that topped the 40-plus win plateau; two that made trips to the College World Series and five that finished ranked in the Top 25 polls, including three in the Top 10.

Share Baseball America has put out their incoming 2010 Recruiting Class Rankings which are led by the University of Florida. Stanford comes in at the runner up spot with Arizona State, TCU, and Cal-State Fullerton completing the Top 5.

Share Rivals.com College Baseball editor Kendall Rogers has put out an article detailing five programs that are rising in prestige and five that are starting to fall off the map. The programs that he sees coming on are: TCU, Virginia, East Carolina, Kansas and Ohio State. The five programs that are starting to fall are: Arizona, Baylor, Tulane, Nebraska, and California. He has some interesting commentary on each team as I can see his reasoning on all the programs except for one in Baylor.

Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 95 in our countdown with Houston junior infielder Blake Kelso. He is from Pflugerville Texas where he attended Pflugerville High School. He was a four year letter winner including hitting .440 with 20 RBI and six triples.

We continue the list today with number 98 in our countdown with Tulane sophomore catcher Jeremy Schaffer. He is from Bellaire Texas where he attended Bellaire High School. He was a four year letter winner in high school where he hit .404 with eight homers and 40 RBI in his senior campaign.

Share The Virginia Cavaliers baseball team held a scrimmage on Tuesday evening where Robert Morey tossed 4.2 innings scattering four hits and allowing one run. He also had five strikeouts.

Houston — Rice head baseball coach Wayne Graham welcomed back 22 returning lettermen from last season’s team that earned the program’s 15th-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament, and a total of 13 newcomers to the roster, as the Owls held their first fall practice of 2009 on Monday afternoon (Oct. 5) at Reckling Park.

HOUSTON - The month-long fall practice schedule is underway for the University of Houston baseball team. The Cougars began their fall workouts on Sept. 28, and the fall slate will conclude on Oct. 29.
UH will hold a scrimmage against Blinn College on Oct. 23 with the time to be announced. It will be the only fall action in preparation for the 55-game 2010 season. Practice will begin each afternoon at 2:30 p.m., while Saturday’s practice is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start. The team will be off on Sundays.
