 OMAHA, Neb. – The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the ABCA/Rawlings Sporting Goods All-American teams on Wednesday, June 17.
Among the First Team honorees are six players participating in this year’s College World Series including Arizona State starting pitcher Mike Leake, LSU starting pitcher Louis Coleman, Arizona State catcher Carlos Ramirez, UNC first baseman Dustin Ackley, ASU outfielder Jason Kipnis and Virginia utility player Danny Hultzen. AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 8 Texas Longhorns put on their hitting shoes and posted a 19-11 win over the No. 17 Baylor Bears in Big 12 Conference baseball action Saturday afternoon at Baylor Ballpark.
The game featured season-highs for hits (16), runs (19), total bases (27) and home runs (3) as the Longhorns moved to 32-11-1 on the season and 14-8-1 in Big 12 Conference play. The win put the Horns back in first place in the league standings.

AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 8 Texas Longhorns took advantage of a season-high seven errors by the No. 17 Baylor Bears to post a 12-4 win in Big 12 Conference baseball action Friday evening at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Texas (31-11-1, 13-8-1 Big 12) equaled a season-high with 12 runs, including six unearned, and logged 13 hits on the evening.

The first article comes from Nate Owen of The Huntington News about Northeastern taking the final two games of their series with Dallas Baptist over the weekend. The next two articles come from The Daily Cal from Katie Dowd who wrote a recap of the Cal-Stanford game and Matt Kawahara who did a feature on the struggles of the Cal baseball program. SAN ANTONIO – It was a day for records at Roadrunner Field on Monday, as senior All-American Michael Rockett went 3-for-4 to become the Southland Conference’s all-time hit king, junior closer Zach Calhoon saved the 24th game of his career also a new league standard and UTSA held on for a 4-3 victory against Dallas Baptist.

Share DALLAS, Texas – In a game that had six lead changes, a six-run seventh put the game out of reach for HBU as the Huskies suffered a 14-8 loss to Dallas Baptist to end a three-game series at Patriot Field on Saturday afternoon.
In the top of the first, freshman Travis Fuquay drew a leadoff walk and then stole second with one out. Then, with two outs, Andrew Taccolini singled in Fuquay followed by a single off the bat of Johnathon Moore. Taccolini also scored in the inning thanks to a wild pitch to make it a 2-0 Husky lead. In the bottom of the inning, DBU took advantage of a hit batter and an error to push across one run.

The DBU Baseball Program has taken an active role in supporting the University’s mission of developing servant leaders through participation in numerous volunteer and service projects throughout the Dallas/ Ft Worth community. The players and coaches have served the community by volunteering at the Special Olympics of Texas State Track and Field Meet, helping with Habitat for Humanity and by reaching out to children in the Dallas area as they partnered with “Our Hands His Love” to put on a free baseball clinic.

The 2009 Dallas Baptist University Patriots Baseball schedule was released on Monday, November 10, by Head Coach Dan Heefner. The Patriots will open up their season at home, when they welcome Binghamton University to Patriot Field on February 20, for a 3:00 p.m. game.
