Share The Duquesne Dukes will spend the first six weeks of the season on the road in 2010. The Dukes start the season with a weekend series at South Carolina (Feb. 19-21) before flocking to Winter Haven, Florida, for a Spring Break trip beginning Feb. 27. Duquesne will pick up single games against Central Florida (March 2) and West Virginia (March 9) before traveling to UNC-Wilmington (March12-14). The games away from home continue with a mid-week game at Kent State (March 16) and a spot in the George Mason Tournament (March 19-21). The Dukes then wrap up the road haul with a game at Akron (March 24) followed by the opening weekend of Atlantic 10 play at George Washington (March 26-28).

Share UMass and Arizona on Sunday (Courtesy of The Daily Wildcat)
This weekend we saw two bench clearing brawls take place with the Florida-Duquesne match-up having an incident on Friday night and UMass-Arizona got into it on Sunday afternoon. Both of these incidents were out of conference matchups and don’t have any history behind them. Since their isn’t any history between these squads, it makes it more disturbing.  Charlotte picked to win A-10 in 2009

Golden Eagles Begin Fall Practice
The Oral Roberts University baseball team has begun fall practice in preparation for the 2009 season, where the Golden Eagles look to claim their 12th consecutive conference championship.
ORU’s fall practice runs through mid-October, with intrasquad scrimmages at J.L. Johnson Stadium held every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The scrimmages are free and open to the public.

UNC Wilmington 17 Delaware 7
WILMINGTON, N.C. – Senior Jason Appel tied his career-high with four hits and senior Daniel Hargrave knocked in four runs as No. 29 UNC Wilmington fought through three weather delays to win its Colonial Athletic Association baseball series against Delaware with a 17-7 win on Sunday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
UNCW, who scored 43 runs in the series, improved to 29-8-1 overall and 18-2-1 in the CAA. The Blue Hens, meanwhile, saw their record fall to 13-24 and 6-12. Read the rest of this entry »

VMI 6 Liberty 5 (16 innings)
LYNCHBURG, Va.– A.J. Yoder’s single up the middle plated Brian Sandridge with the winning run in the 16th inning as VMI defeated Liberty 6-5 on Saturday evening in Big South Conference action at Worthington Stadium.

TCU 13 BYU 4
PROVO, Utah – The TCU Horned Frogs erased an early 3-0 deficit with a six-run second inning and cruised to the 13-4 victory over BYU at Larry H. Miller Field Friday night. The victory ensures the Frogs the series win as they continue their hot play in the month of April. It was another offensive explosion for TCU as they scored 13 times on 15 hits. Share We enter the opening weekend of the College Baseball season. We will be bringing you an ACC weekend preview throughout the regular season and during the postseason will have previews of every regional. The biggest highlight of the weekend is Wake Forest heading out to Pepperdine for a three game set. We have a great preview on every ACC in our conference preview section broken off by divisions.
