The FIU baseball team recently finalized its 2010 schedule, announced head coach Turtle Thomas. The 2010 slate is packed with big-name programs both at home and on the road to go along with the always-challenging Sun Belt Conference schedule. "I think the Sun Belt getting better and better every year because we have a lot of great coaches in this conference," Thomas said. "There are no easy ones in this league."

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference recognized its top performers on the baseball field with the announcement of the 2009 All-Conference teams on Tuesday. The student-athletes selected to the first and second teams, as voted on by the 11 head coaches, were honored for their consistent play throughout the season, posting impressive numbers all year.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State (35-12) scored early and often Wednesday night in cruising to a 15-5 victory over Florida International (30-19) on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles tallied 11 runs in the first three innings as every FSU starter registered a hit as it was the first meeting between the two schools since 1991. Frank Damas joins the FIU baseball coaching staff after a successful stint as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Miami Dade College. With Damas on their staff from 2003 until 2008, MDC won four Southern Conference championships and posted a combined record of 202-70
