As Major League Baseball heads for the home stretch in the final weeks of 2008, the college season is just getting underway in Tallahassee. Florida State officially starts its fall baseball season on Wednesday afternoon inside Dick Howser Stadium on Mike Martin Field.

Buster Posey

GREENSBORO, N.C. –ACC Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year Buster Posey of Florida State leads the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.

Posey, a junior Business Finance major, is a three-time ACC All-Academic team selection and the recipient of the 2008 Academic All-American of the Year, presented by CoSIDA in conjunction with ESPN the Magazine. Posey is a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll, a five-time Dean’s List Student and was named to the Florida State President’s List during the spring of his sophomore year.
