Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham baseball coach Nick Restaino announced the hiring of Trevor Brown as pitching coach today. Brown comes to Rose Hill after a seven year stint with Pace University where his staffs ranked among the leaders in the conference and in the nation in ERA, strikeouts and saves.
In 2009, Pace’s pitching staff ranked third in the conference in strikeouts (297) and saves (11) while Brown coached his hurlers in 2008 to the top ranking in Division II in ERA (2.62) and hits per inning. In 2007, Brown’s pitching staff ranked second in the conference in strikeouts, saves and runners picked off and third in opposing team’s batting average and fourth in ERA.

Share What program has won the most college baseball games? Texas? No, Guess again, LSU? No, I bet in your first 25 guesses you would not have guessed that Fordham leads the country. They have won 4,010 games while the second place Texas Longhorns are nearly 900 victories behind with 3,117. Fordham will be hosting a game on Tuesday April 7th when Williams makes a trip down to celebrate the Rams first intercollegiate game on November 3, 1859. Read the rest of this entry »

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Ben Bunting posted career highs of three hits and three RBI, and Levi Michael and Mark Fleury belted home runs in No. 1 North Carolina’s 10-3 win over Seton Hall Saturday at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium. Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham baseball head coach Nick Restaino announced the team’s 2009 schedule today, as the Rams celebrate the 150th anniversary of the very first Fordham baseball team, which started play in 1859.
Except for 1944, the Fordham baseball program has played every year since 1859 and stands as the winningest program in NCAA history. The Rams, then known as the “Rose Hills”, started play on November 3, 1859, against St. Francis Xavier, in the first known collegiate baseball game to use nine players. In this anniversary season, the Rams will be competing for their fourth Atlantic 10 Championship tournament berth in the last six years. Read the rest of this entry »

Georgetown Baseball Announces Incoming Recruiting Class
- Head Coach Pete Wilk announced that Georgetown Baseball will be welcoming eight new players to the fold this upcoming season. Billy Cosmopulous, Nick Geary, Will Harris, Alex Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Bobby Kirby, Andy Lentz and Rand Ravnaas comprise the incoming class that will try and help the Hoyas move up in the BIG EAST pecking order.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Tyler Mickits hit a two-run home run and Matt Lea, Neil Holland and Zack Pitts combined on a three-hit shutout, as the University of Louisville Cardinals blanked Morehead State 2-0 Tuesday at Jim Patterson Stadium.
After catcher Jeff Arnold reached on an infield single to lead off the fifth inning and moved to third on a throwing error, Mickits belted his first home run of the season deep to right center to put the Cards (27-16) on top 2-0 for the only scoring of the game. Read the rest of this entry »

In the Atlantic 10, he lists Charlotte as the clear favorite with Richmond, Fordham, and St. Bonaventure as contenders. His darkhorse in the conference is Xavier. The full A-10 preview is available here. In America East, Eric can not decided on any clear favorite listing Albany, Binghamton, Maine and Stony Brook as contenders for the conference championship.
