(HAARLEM, Netherlands) – Jared Clark’s leadoff home run in the top of the sixth broke a 1-1 tie, and Kendal Volz (Baylor; Bulverde, Texas) notched his fifth save of the tournament as the USA Baseball National Team defeated Cuba 4-1 Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the 24th Haarlem Baseball Week at Pim Mullier Stadium. (HAARLEM, The Netherlands) – Due to persistent inclement weather, Thursday’s pool-play game between the USA Baseball National Team and the Chinese-Taipei National Team at Pim Mullier Stadium has been postponed until Friday at 4:30 a.m. EDT. This is the final pool-play game at the Haarlem Baseball Week for Team USA, which has already clinched the top seed in the tournament portion of the event. USA Baseball is the National Governing Body of amateur baseball in the United States and is a member of the United States Olympic Committee. The organization selects and trains the United States Olympic Baseball Team (and all other USA Baseball Professional Teams); the USA Baseball National Team (collegiate); the USA Baseball 18U, 16U and 14U National Teams; and the USA Baseball Women’s National Team, all of which participate in various international competitions each year. (HAARLEM, The Netherlands) – Josh Fellhauer’s RBI fielder’s choice snapped a 1-1 tie in the top of the 10th inning, and Kendal Volz (Baylor; Bulverde, Texas) notched his third save in four games as the USA Baseball National Team defeated the host Netherlands National Team in Wednesday’s pool-play action of the Haarlem Baseball Week at Pim Mullier Stadium.
Team USA improved to 11-0 on its 2008 tour and 4-0 at the Haarlem Baseball Week with the victory, which also clinched the top seed in this weekend’s tournament portion of the event. After striking out the first batter he faced, Volz walked Takahiro Iwamoto on a full-count pitch to bring the potential tying run to the plate. (HAARLEM, The Netherlands) – Christian Colon (Cal State Fullerton; Corona, Calif.) drew a bases-loaded walk to snap a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning as the USA Baseball National Team rallied to a 3-1 victory over Chinese-Taipei in Friday’s pool-play action at the 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week at Pim Mullier Stadium. Team USA improved to 12-0 on the 2008 tour with the win. 
(HAARLEM, The Netherlands) – Kendal Volz (Baylor; Bulverde, Texas) caught pinch-hitter Yoandrys Urgelles looking on a 2-2 slider for the third out of the ninth, stranding runners at second and third as the USA Baseball National Team defeated Cuba 1-0 in Sunday’s Haarlem Baseball Week pool-play action at Pim Mullier Stadium. Team USA improved to 9-0 on its 2008 tour and is the only remaining undefeated team at Haarlem Baseball Week.

Team USA is now 8-0 on its 2008 tour.
