With an experienced group of players returning and a talented freshmen class, the Hawkeyes are set to continue their improvement in the Big Ten and make a run at a conference title.
“This season we have a nice mix of experience and young talent,” Dahm said. “When we’ve had success in this program, it was when our upperclassmen have had good years and have given us good leadership and I believe we will get both from this years seniors.” Read the rest of this entry »

Cody Neer went 2-for-5 with a homer, while Jake Mort and DJ Belfonte drove in two runs apiece, leading Nebraska to a 8-6 victory over Iowa in a fall exhibition game at Duane Banks Field Friday night.
Neer’s solo homer capped a three-run third inning that would give the Huskers all the offense they needed before breaking open the contest with four runs in the 10th. Nebraska withstood a Hawkeye rally, as Iowa scored four times in the bottom of the 10th before Mike Mariot struck out Chett Zeise to preserve the win.
“I was really pleased with how we played all three phases of the game tonight,” Nebraska Coach Mike Anderson said. “We were strong on the mound and defensively and were able to string together some hits at key times. The experience of being on the road over the last two days and playing tonight was beneficial because it helped our guys understand the process we go through on the road.

Share The main reason why we saw the Uniform Start Date was that the Big Ten Conference really used their leverage to implement the new rule to level the playing field across the nation. The Big Ten this past weekend picked up some embarrassing losses with Ohio State losing to Air Force and Maine. The Michigan Wolverines picked up a loss to GA Southern on Friday with another bad loss earlier in the year to Portland.
