CAA BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Trevor Knight, James Madison

So., 1B/P, Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne’s-Belfield

Knight excelled with the bat and on the mound in JMU’s five games last week. At the plate, Knight batted .600 (15-25) with a double, two triples, four homers, 12 runs scored and 13 RBI. He drove in at least two runs in all five contests and hit .667 as the Dukes won two of three at VCU. Knight also made his first career pitching start on Sunday and allowed just three hits over six shutout innings while fanning six.

Childers batted .522 (12-23) with two homers, six runs scored and 11 RBI in Georgia State’s six games. The senior had back-to-back three-hit games in Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of Delaware, and tied a school-record by driving in eight runs in the opener.

Here is your ACC Recap for March 31st.

Georgia 6 Clemson 5

ATHENS-Top-ranked Georgia scored four runs in the third and held off No. 22 Clemson, 6-5, Tuesday at Foley Field.

Georgia improved to 23-3 and won for the ninth time in 10 games while Clemson dropped to 18-8.

Bryce Massanari and Colby May hit home runs and finished with two hits apiece for Georgia. Rich Poythress, the reigning National Hitter of the Week, went 2-for-4 with his league-leading 48th RBI. Read the rest of this entry »

Bour hit .471 (8-17) and drove in 11 runs in George Mason’s 3-1 week. The junior first baseman was 7-for-13 (.538) with two homers, four runs scored and nine RBI as the Patriots won two of three at William & Mary. Chris Henderson, George Mason

Henderson batted .440 with five doubles, a triple, a homer, four RBI and six runs scored as George Mason went 5-1 last week. He hit .615 (8-13) as the Patriots won two of three at CAA foe ODU, including becoming just the second player in school history to hit for the cycle in Saturday’s 4-2 triumph. Browning batted .647 (11-17) with three doubles, a homer, seven runs scored and four RBI in JMU’s five games last week.
