WICHITA, KANSAS – Another successful Greater Wichita Sports Banquet has come to a close for the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission. WICHITA, KS – The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced today the list of thirteen semifinalists for the 2009 Coleman Company-Johnny Bench Award delivered by Papa John’s Pizza.

The Coleman Company-Johnny Bench Award semifinalists are (in alphabetical order):

Buck Afenir, University of Kansas;
Billy Alvino, High Point University;
Griffin Benedict, Georgia Southern University;
Dan Burkhart, Ohio State University;

The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced the official watch list for the 2009 Coleman Company-Johnny Bench Award delivered by Papa John’s Pizza. Forty-four catchers were nominated for the award by their coaches.
