K-State 2010 Schedule MANHATTAN, Kan. – A 13-game homestand during the month of March and 29 games against 2009 NCAA Regional competition highlight Kansas State’s slate as head coach Brad Hill released the Wildcats’ 2010 baseball schedule on Thursday.

Kansas State will play 28 home games, while the Wildcats face 10 squads that advanced to the previous year’s NCAA Tournament for the third-straight season. Of the Cats’ 29 games against 2009 NCAA Regional participants, 14 come within the final month of the regular season.

K-State MANHATTAN, Kan. – Following a school-record 43-win season, which led to the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, the Kansas State baseball team begins fall practice on Sunday in preparations for the 2010 season.

K-State will conduct 22 practices over the next five weeks, followed by a seven-game Fall World Series, which runs Sunday, October 25 through Tuesday, November 3.

Head Coach Brad Hill 1 MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Director of Athletics John Currie announced Wednesday that head baseball coach Brad Hill has agreed to a new multi-year contract, securing the services of the 2009 Big 12 Coach of the Year through the 2013 season.

The new four-year deal is retroactive to July 1, 2009, and extends to June 14, 2013. It replaces the four-year agreement Hill signed in 2007.

DANVILLE, Ill. — When he arrived in Danville to join the Dans, Austin Nola brought with him plenty of memories from his school season at LSU.

Both he and Dans teammate Mikie Mahtook were late-comers after winning this year’s College World Series.

Western Illinois head coach Stan Hyman's signing of Jason Smith gives the Leatherneck's a total of 11 new players for the 2010 season.

Western Illinois signs 11 for 2010

MACOMB, Ill. – Righthanded pitcher Jason Smith of Morrison, Ill. has signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Western Illinois for the 2010 season.

The signing of Smith gives head coach Stan Hyman a total of 11 new players for his 2010 team. The 2010 recruiting class includes players from California, Washington, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and Ohio.

The roster is headlined by shortstop and 2008 National Team member Christian Colon (Cal State Fullerton; Capey, Puerto Rico), and consists of five outfielders, six infielders, 10 pitchers, and one utility player.
