RUSTON — Freshman Benn Fairbanks not only pitched a solid game for the Blue Team (5-2), but his offense and defense gave him plenty of support in the 8-4 win over the White Team (2-5) on Sunday at J.C. Love Field.
Fairbanks was able to stay under the 85 pitch limit in 6.2 innings. The native of Richmond, Texas allowed only five hits, gave up two earned runs, struck out three and walked none. Read the rest of this entry »

FRESNO, Calif. – With a strong pitching performance and offense barrage of 42 runs, Fresno State completed a four-game sweep of Louisiana Tech on Sunday afternoon. La Tech managed just five hits against Bulldog pitching on Sunday as Fresno State won 8-0.
The Bulldogs improved their WAC record to 9-3 and due to a San Jose State’s 2-1 win over Sacramento State (15-17, 10-5), Fresno State took sole possession of first place in the league standings. Read the rest of this entry »

RUSTON, La. – Junior Gabe Jacobo hit home runs in each of his first three at bats as the Sacramento State Hornets defeated the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs by the score of 17-2 in seven innings on Thursday, April 3 at J.C. Love Field.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 11-15, 6-3 in Western Athletic Conference play, while the Bulldogs fall to 15-12, 2-6 in the WAC. The game was limited to seven innings due to the 10-run mercy rule, which is in effect for all WAC series this season. Read the rest of this entry »
