The Cape Cod Baseball League Championship series continues today with Bourne visiting Cotuit in the second game of their three game series. Bourne won Game 1 last evening by a score of 15-5 in only six innings due to fog. Game 2 starts today at 3pm Eastern time and if Cotuit is able to pick up the victory then the teams will play a deciding game tomorrow in Bourne.

Day 2 of the Cape Cod Baseball League Semifinals take place today with the Cotuit Kettleers hosting the Yarmouth Dennis Red Sox. The Kettleers picked up a 3-0 victory yesterday over the Red Sox behind an outstanding pitching performance from Chad Bell to grab a 1-0 lead in the series. (FULL STORY) The teams will start the game today at 3pm from Lowell Park. The other matchup is the Bourne Braves heading over to the Orleans Firebirds. The Braves picked up a come from behind 3-2 victory in Game 1 by scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth for the walkoff win. (FULL STORY)

The Cape Cod Baseball League will be providing live video of the CCBL playoffs which start up today at 3pm when the Wareham Gatemen play the Cotuit Kettleers at 3pm while Chatham plays Orleans at 7pm. Wareham and Cotuit have not announced their starting pitchers for the game yet while Chatham will send Baylor’s RHP Logan Verrett (2-0, 3.09 ERA) as Orleans counters with Rutgers LHP Casey Gaynor (2-1, 1.74 ERA).

Team USA will play their final game of the summer today in the 2009 Enbridge Northern Gateway World Baseball Challenge in Prince George British Columbia. Team USA will take on the Germany National Team which picked up an upset victory over the United States team during the preliminary rounds (Full Recap). Team USA will send LHP Drew Pomeranz (Ole Miss) to the hill to face TBD pitcher from the German team. The game is set to begin at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific. Team USA enters the playoff round tonight of the 2009 Enbridge Northern Gateway World Baseball Challenge tonight against Team Canada. The USA National team defeated Canada earlier in the tournament by a score of 5-2. Team USA is expected to send ace pitcher Gerritt Cole to the mound tonight while the Canadian pitcher is Jordan Rawlyk from Monterey Peninsula JC. The USA National Team continues their play in the 2009 Enbridge Northern Gateway World Baseball Challenge. Team USA opened up play on Sunday with a 5-2 victory over the Canadian National Team. (FULL STORY). They followed that up with a surprise loss to the German National Team by a score of 6-3. (FULL STORY). The team from The Bahamas has struggled in this tournament as they have lost to Prince George Axemen by a score of 13-3 (Box Score), Germany 20-3 (Box Score), and got no-hit by the Canadian National Team in a 14-0 defeat.
