RUSTON–Louisiana Tech’s baseball seniors gathered at head coach Wade Simoneaux’s house Saturday night and held the team’s annual draft for the Fall World Series which is set to begin Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m. at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
After the team’s seniors were served a full meal of baked potatoes, beans, garlic bread and steaks by Simoneaux; the seniors were split into two teams of four seniors a piece. On one side there was John Anderson, Drew Thomas, Jonathan Mire and Clint Stubbs while on the other team was Clay Alexander, Jamey Bradshaw, Alex Richard and Devon Dageford.

RUSTON– Louisiana Tech’s 2010 baseball schedule has been released and will include match-ups with three of the final eight team’s of the College World Series, a trip to the Metrodome, a number of challenging regional contests and a tough conference schedule.

DENVER – Fresno State has been selected as the favorite to win the 2009 Western Athletic Conference regular season baseball crown in a vote by the league’s seven head coaches. The coaches also voted on a preseason all-WAC team, and Fresno State placed four players on the team while Hawai‘i, Nevada and New Mexico State each had three. Fresno State junior third baseman Tommy Mendonca was named the preseason player of the year, while Hawai‘i senior Jared Alexander was picked the preseason pitcher of the year. Louisiana Tech is nearly halfway through with its annual Fall World Series, and the Blue Team so far has found the winning edge in the intrasquad scrimmages.
Blue has defeated the White Team in all three games played by finals scores of 12-11, 14-9 and 6-3.

Louisiana Tech’s baseball squad has set the dates and times for the 2008 Fall World Series Classic at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
The World Series will consist of a seven-game intersquad scrimmage between the Blue and the White Team made up of Tech’s baseball players.

Louisiana Tech Bulldog Baseball Sets Fall Schedule
For the first time in the Wade Simoneaux era at Louisiana Tech, the Bulldog baseball team will play four fall games against outside competition.
Simoneaux announced Monday that Louisiana Tech would play LSU-Shreveport Oct. 3, Panola Junior College Oct. 9, Grambling State Oct. 16 and Bossier Parish Community College Oct. 18.

The East Texas Pump Jacks’ inaugural season may have come to an end, but Luke Burnett will continue pitching.
The Jacks 6’8” reliever signed a professional contract over the weekend with the Seattle Mariners, becoming the second Pump Jacks player to turn pro. Justin Murray agreed to terms with the Oakland Athletics in the final week of the regular season to become the first East Texas player to sign a pro contract.
