Due to a mixup by the Boston Red Sox, the ACC Baseball tourney has been removed from Fenway Park after a scheduling mixup between the Boston Red Sox and the Fenway Sports Group. Buster Posey

GREENSBORO, N.C. –ACC Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year Buster Posey of Florida State leads the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.

Posey, a junior Business Finance major, is a three-time ACC All-Academic team selection and the recipient of the 2008 Academic All-American of the Year, presented by CoSIDA in conjunction with ESPN the Magazine. Posey is a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll, a five-time Dean’s List Student and was named to the Florida State President’s List during the spring of his sophomore year.

DALLAS - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)­ released the Pro-Line Athletic National Player of the Week awards for the period ending May 18, today. College of Charleston junior third baseman Jeremie Tice was named National Hitter of the Week, while Maryland sophomore right-hander Scott Swinson was named National Pitcher of the Week. NEWARK, Del. – Sophomore Scott Swinson threw the sixth no-hitter in Maryland baseball history, striking out a career-high 10 batters as the University of Maryland baseball team defeated Delaware, 4-0, in its season finale to end the season with 30 wins. BLACKSBURG, Va. - Junior centerfielder Blake Tekotte tied a school record with three home runs and Miami hit five home runs in a game for the third time this season as the No. 1 ranked Hurricanes (40-5, 21-2 ACC) won its 40th game with a 12-4 win over Virginia Tech (20-29, 4-21 ACC) Friday evening at English Field. Miami (FL) at Virginia Tech

The Miami Hurricanes head north to Blacksburg VA to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in a battle between the First place team and the worst team in the conference. The Hurricanes have an overall record of 39-5 and 20-2 in the tough ACC. The Hokies have a record of 20-28 and 4-20 in the ACC. The Hurricanes have one of the most potent lineups in the entire led by Yonder Alonso and Jemile Weeks. Alonso has a batting average of .384 with 14 homers and 50 RBI in 44 games. He has an on-base percentage of .550. Jemile Weeks leads the team with a .390 average with 16 stolen bases. Chris Hernandez has been perfect in his first collegiate season as he has a 8-0 record with a 2.70 ERA. Florida State at Clemson

The Florida State Seminoles head to Clemson SC for a Saturday-Monday series against the Clemson Tigers. The Seminoles enter with a 37-7 overall record while being 19-5 in the ACC. The Seminoles have been one of the better hitting teams in the country with a team batting average of .346. All-American catcher candidate Buster Posey is the top hitter on the team with a .470 average and a team leading 13 homers on the year. DeLand, Fla. - Third-ranked Florida State (36-7) registered its seventh consecutive non-conference victory with a 13-3 win over Stetson (19-27) Tuesday night in front of 2,751 at Melching Field, the eighth largest crowd in stadium history.
