Ole Miss 14 Bethune-Cookman 1
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Michael Guerrero crushed a pair of home runs during a 10-run sixth-inning to help Ole Miss dismantle Bethune-Cookman 14-1 Saturday in an elimination game at the NCAA Miami Regional at Mark Light Field.
Cody Overbeck also homered as the Rebels advance to play Sunday at 11 a.m. CT against the loser of Saturday’s second game between Missouri and host Miami.

Miami 6 Missouri 5 (FINAL)
CORAL GABLES, Fla. - - No. 2-seed Mizzou fell to top-seed Miami by a score of 6-5 on Saturday in the NCAA Coral Gables Regional and will now need to win three-straight games in order to keep its season alive. After the Tigers tied the game with two runs in the top of the eighth inning, Miami retook the lead in the bottom half of the eighth.
Mizzou (39-20) fell behind 5-0 after three innings, but cut the lead to two with a three-run fifth inning and tied the game when junior Steve Gray hit a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning. However, the Hurricanes answered by plating what would be the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - - Junior All-American Aaron Crow recorded his fourth shutout of the season as Mizzou opened its sixth-consecutive NCAA Regional with a 7-0 win over Ole Miss on Friday in Coral Gables, Fla. The Miami Hurricanes head back to the NCAA Tournament as the top seed in the entire 64 team tournament and will host a Regional in Coral Gables at Mark Light Stadium. The Canes have a 47-8 overall record while going a solid 23-5 in the tough ACC. They will be joined by Missouri and Ole Miss. The Tigers have a 38-19 record while going 16-11 in the Big 12. Ole Miss on the other hand is 37-24 with a conference mark of 15-15. Missouri will send their ace to the mound on Friday to face off against Ole Miss ace Lance Lynn which is one of the top pitching matchups in the first round of the tourney. CORAL GABLES, FL - Florida Atlantic right-hander Michael Obradovich struck out a season-best seven batters, allowing just three runs in eight outstanding innings and All-America candidate William Block hit two home runs in the Owls’ 6-3 win over No. 1 Miami.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - For the second time in the last four games, a walk-off home run propelled No. 1 Miami to a win. Junior left fielder Dave DiNatale sent the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the 11th over the fence in left field as top-ranked Miami walked off with a 4-2 win over Florida Gulf Coast Tuesday night at Mark Light Field. Hempstead, NY- Hofstra scored three or more runs in the first three innings during which Matt Kougasian had four RBI and Nick Panzarella had three RBI as the Pride defeated Coppin State, 12-3, Wednesday afternoon. With the victory the Pride improve to 8-16 while the Eagles fall to 3-23.
Hofstra jumped out to a three-run lead in the first inning. After the first three runners reached base for the Pride, Kougasian drove a run home with a sacrifice fly for the first run. Entering the week having scored 29 runs in its previous six games, the Canisius College baseball team has scored 33 runs in the last two games as the Golden Griffins defeated Delaware State 21-12 at Soldier Field in Dover, Del. on Tuesday. BLACKSBURG, Va., March 11, 2008 - James Madison University led from start to finish and put five runs on the board in the ninth inning to pull away from Virginia Tech for a 10-3 non-conference baseball win Tuesday afternoon at English Field.
JMU improved to 9-3 overall and won its fifth in a row for the first time since late in the 2006 season. It is the first five-game winning streak of entirely road games since 1995. VT dropped to 7-7 for the season. The Dukes won their third straight game at English Field with the last loss in 1998. The Northeastern University baseball team defeated the Western Michigan Broncos 4-2 on Thursday afternoon at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla. Sophomore Charly Bashara improved to 1-0 on the season after outdueling the Broncos’ Ethan Hollingsworth.
Bashara finished with a final line of six innings, four hits, one earned run, four strikeouts and no walks, making it the second straight day that the Huskies were able to silence the heavy-hitting Bronco lineup. DALLAS - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released the Pro-Line Athletic National Player of the Week awards for the period ending March 4, today. Kentucky junior outfielder Sawyer Carroll was named National Hitter of the Week, while Southern Miss senior right-hander Barry Bowden and Norfolk State’s senior right-hander Joey Seal were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.

CARY, NC–Old Dominion University senior first baseman Brian Cipolla (Plainview, NY.) knocked in six runs to lead the Monarchs (1-1) to an 8-6 victory over second ranked North Carolina (3-1) Tuesday evening. This is the highest ranked team ODU has ever beaten.
North Carolina took a 5-4 lead into the top of the ninth. With two outs, in the ninth Cipolla hit his first homer of the season to right field to tie the game. DAYTONA BEACH, FL (2/25/08) – After managing just one hit over the first seven innings, Temple’s bats finally came alive in the final two frames, banging out seven hits and three runs. But the late rally came up just short, allowing host Bethune-Cookman to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Cherry and White in the series finale on Monday at Jackie Robinson Park.
BCU starter Eric Thomas (1-0) kept the Owls off balance through seven shutout innings, surrendering only an infield single to senior Stan Orzechowski (Philadelphia, PA / Northeast Catholic) in the third. The Wildcats went to the bullpen in the eighth with a 1-0 lead and Temple looked to take full advantage of the change on the mound.
