Missouri State baseball coach Keith Guttin announced the addition of eight players to the 2010 squad Thursday. Blake Barber, Grant Gordon, Pierce Johnson, Keenen Maddox, Jason McBride, Clay Murphy, Nick Petree and Beau Stoker have committed to the Bears and will begin attending Missouri State in the 2009-10 school year.

Missouri State Releases Baseball Schedule for 2009

The 2009 Missouri State baseball schedule has been completed and includes a total of 55 games as the Bears move into their sixth season at Hammons Field. The schedule features 26 home dates and 29 road games, 15 games against teams that qualified for the 2008 NCAA Tournament and a three-games series with 2006 and 2007 national champion Oregon State.

We recently sent a staff member out to check out the Missouri State Bears. We have our observations about some of their top players.

RF Nolan Keane SR, 5′9, 170 – Keane is a power hitting lefty that hit .314 with 9HR and 32RBI last season. This year he is at .341 with 4HR 10 Doubles and 36RBI while striking out 20 times and walking 36 times. He has a shot to be drafted in the middle rounds with his nice bat and on base abilities. I will be watching him to see if he has any pop or just a hit-for-average type player. I will also be curious to see his arm. Read the rest of this entry »

Oral Roberts’ baseball team scored a season-high 12 runs en route to defeat No. 9 Baylor, 12-2, sweeping the Bears in the two-game mid-week series, Wednesday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Texas A&M 3 Centenary 2

Texas A&M rallied to take the lead with a three-run sixth, and the pitching staff allowed Centenary two hits the rest of the way, as the 22nd-ranked Aggies defeated the Gents 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon to sweep the series before 2,778 fans at Olsen Field.
